I picked up the first omnibus book in a couple of her series a couple of years ago, having heard such great reviews. I read the first Vampire Diaries and was completely underwhelmed. When I heard they were making a series out of it, I couldn't believe it as there are so many really strong YA series out there that I thought would be much better suited. I'll admit I wasn't initially hooked on the show either, but it's really grown on me and I think they've done a great job with it. I traded away the books on paperbackswap though. =)
Black Dagger Brotherhood
Mercy Thompson & Kate Daniels
Morganville Vampires and Vampire Academy

I haven't been able to get through the first book, although I own the second book as well, so if I do finish it, it will be easy for me to give the series a second chance. Maybe if I just keep picturing David Gandy whenever Barrons is on the page, it will inspire me to read more. =)
I'm with Amy and Kerstin in not being pulled in by this book. I've been trying to read it since June, but put it down and moved on to other things. I hate leaving books unfinished though, so maybe once I've finished Killbox I'll go back and finish it. Neither of the characters are particularly appealing to me, and I find Mac especially annoying - but who knows, you guys all say it gets better and maybe it will.

I was the same way, initially, but ended up really enjoying the other characters and their storyline, so don't give up!
New Magic Slays snippetThe snippets for this book don't seem to last long on their site - so be sure to read it in case it gets taken down!
I quite enjoyed this book when I read it earlier this year. I found myself giggling along the way.** SPOILER **
My only issue with the book was the last chapter; it felt really stuck on. It's as if her editor said "Sex, your book needs sex!", so she threw that scene in. It just felt out of place and I wish it had been left out.
Kate Daniels - she definitely kicks ass, she's feisty, wise-cracking, more powerful than we know and fiercely protective of those she loves. Bonus - Curran! ;)
This is definitely a series that gets better as it goes along, and is firmly on my list of favorites. I know a lot of people have issues with Faythe in this one, but I can appreciate that she's acting out because of the restrictions and expectations put on her. She does grow up with each book though and will undoubtedly truly come into her own in Alpha.
And Mariya, although I'm definitely Team Marc, he did come across as a bit overbearing initially, but now I love him. Oh, and you'll definitely get to know Jace better, and see why he divides the fans on who Faythe should end up with. ;)
LOL, Blood Bound was pretty creepy. And Mariya, Adam just gets better with every book! ;)
Interesting... I loved Silver Borne and thought it was the best one of the series yet. The pack dynamics were brilliant and I think the relationship dynamics were fantastic. Loved it!
Well, I'll be the odd one out and say that while I enjoy this series, it doesn't compare to Mercy for me. I loved the short story in On the Prowl, but was a bit disappointed with Cry Wolf. However, she redeemed herself with Hunting Ground and I'm looking forward to the next book!
Hmm, while I can't decide if Magic Burns was better than Magic Strikes, I adored them both!

RUN and ORDER LOL
There is a soft release date so they are shipping...."
Wow, really? Good, good stuff... going to place my order now!
Me, I love this series, but I know that the choices Mead has made with the story line has put some people off. It's an auto-buy and immediate read for me though and I'm sorry it's coming to an end.
Ha! Curran is brilliant.
LOL, maybe so. ;)
Just wait for Magic Strikes, Regina,it is fantastic - not to take away from the first two books, but they went above and beyond with the third book.
LOL, well I was a huge fan of Phury's book, so I guess I'll share my thoughts on Covet. I'm cheating though, as this is just a copy and paste of my review:
I had high expectations going into this book, being such a huge fan of Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series - and she didn't disappoint. Covet is a really strong first novel of what promises to be an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable series.
She's developed a great character in Jim, giving us a glimpse into his past, and leaving us anxious to learn more. His cohorts - Eddie, Adrian (and Dog) also have interesting pasts I'm anxious to discover and their presence made the story much more enjoyable. Vin and Marie-Terese were wonderful characters. I'm only disappointed that we may not see them again.
Fans of the BDB will love the familiar locations and characters from the obvious - Trez and De La Cruz - to the subtle appearances - Phury and Butch.
Overall, I think this was a much stronger start to the series than Dark Lover was, which is saying a lot as much as I love the BDB series. Annual releases in the Fallen Angel series will go a long way towards helping me get over the disappointment of only getting on BDB book a year.
