Groups_nophoto-50x66 I just finished Heat Wave by Richard Castle. I read it because patrons were asking about him, his other books and the awards he won. All of which are fake. If you like the tv show Castle, you will like the book.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I am reading the new Nevada Barr, 13 and 1/2. Pretty creepy and not at all like her other books. I wold definitely recommend this book.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I am reading the new Dan Brown book, The Lost Symbol. I am almost afraid to admit it because I don't want to get mugged in the parking lot. So far so good, but then I like his 2 other books. I'll keep everyone posted.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 Shomeret - Keep reading. I have read both Mistress of the Art of Death and Grave Goods and loved them both. But then I like historical mysteries. But the books are fascinating for another reason the way the forensic spects of the crimes are investigated. We are so used to fingerprint technology at least that her methods seem really interesting to me.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 Try the newest one. It's almost as good as the first ones.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I loved those books. I took a break from them because it seemed like there was nothing new to them. But now I'm back after having read the most recent one. It was a definite improvement over the others.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I loved this book. Some of it made me laugh out loud. The footnotes were a nice touch. The story is highly improbable (I think) but I have recommended this book so many times, I've lost count. But you are right, in general the book is not for the faint of heart.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I loved the Suspicions of Mr. Wicher. I read it when it first came out and recommended it to everyone I know. A fascinating story.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I just finished Grave Goods, the new Ariana Franklin book. Very good, as always. The saga continues only this time King Arthur and Excalibur are involved.

I am finishing up Starvation Lake by Bryan Gruely. It is apparently his first novel and it's pretty good. I did guess the big secret before it was actually revealed, but then I read a lot of mysteries. I'd recommend this book, especially to hockey fans.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 Have you tried the Midsommer Murders series?

Groups_nophoto-50x66 It's fiction and I suppose she took a lot of "artistic license." It's like those Brother Cadfeal mysteries entertaining but wholly unbelievable. That said, I needed something that I didn't have to concentrate on and these books work for me.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I buy because of covers as well, but I try to do a quick scan of the book. It doesn't prevent me from getting some dogs, but it does help.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 Was it Mistress of the Art of Death? If so, this one has the same characters, only now she is dealing with Henry II and Eleanor. So maybe this won't be a good fit.
I have not read her other book City of Shadows.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 Scarpetta is the newest Cornwell. It is excellent. Much better than the last couple of ones. I am currently reading The Serpent's Tale by Ariana Franklin. The characters are the original CSI team (think medieval England.)
Groups_nophoto-50x66 I use stop you're killing me - the lists are very handy, but I'd never been to booksnbytes. it was great thanks for the info.

I too liked THE BODIES LEFT BEHIND much better than THE BROKEN WINDOW. Everything was just better, plot, characters, setting. Like Deaver is finally getting back on track.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 Bodies Left Behind. Definitely a good book. I started it on a Friday night and read straight through the weekend. There are some great twists in this book.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 I too love Lee Child books, but am woefully behind. Currently I am reading The Emperor of Ocean Park. Beautifully written and a pretty good mystery besides.

Groups_nophoto-50x66 The last mystery I read was the Pale Blue Eye by Louis Bayard. It was great. A nice historical setting and the mystery was goo as well.
