28980 I recently read Soulless by Gail Carriger and I fell in love, so I immediately went out and bought the sequel as the library didn't have it. So I recently bought

Changeless (The Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger - Isn't it beautiful! :D

28980 So, random comment having to do with book covers. I was reading on this site the other day that most authors do not get a choice in what their book cover looks like. It is usually up to the publisher, so if you don't like it then, sorry, that's life. There was this one book I guess that got a lot of criticism because the lead character on the cover is white, but in the book she isn't white. I think this might have been covered in another envelope, but I thought it was interesting and kinda sucky for authors.

28980 Yesterday I started Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum, but so far I'm not too impressed. I'm determined to finish it before it's due back at the Library on the 21st though.

28980 I'm currently reading The Unwritten Rule by Elizabeth ScottThe Unwritten Rule. It's pretty good so far, I wish I could stay up the rest of the night and read it, but alas, I cannot. Maybe tomorrow...

28980 I have been dying to read Jane Austin, but I've been putting it aside for quite sometime. I think it's because so many of her books have been turned into movies and I've seen most of them.

However, I just recently read "Sense & Sensibility" and I loved it. It did take me about half way through the book to get into the groove of the old English way of speaking, but once I got it, it totally flowed. It was way better than the movie, I daresay. I really want to read "Pride & Prejudice", but I have a stack of library books I have to make it through first.

I have heard that it is excellent though and plan to take it up as soon as I possibly can.

28980 Queen in Exile by Donna Hatch I just saw this cover online. I love it!

28980 I love Cassandra Clare! I think her books are hilarious and creative. I've read several books about the Nephilim, but I love hers the best! I hope the female lead in these books isn't like Clary though, I thought she was a wimp! I loved Isabelle and don't even get me started on Jace (grr).

28980 I'd put off reading this book for a long time for several reasons, but I've always been drawn to the book because of the cover. I finally broke down and read it because everyone gave it such good reviews. I ended up really liking it.

I think if Patch really existed, he would be super HOT! I've always been attracted to the bad sarcastic kind of guy, I don't know what it is about them, but grrrr... Patch definitely fits in that description. I really liked Fallen, but I think Hush Hush had better character development.

28980 I've had The Summer I Turned Pretty on hold at the library for, it seems like, ever. I was at Barnes & Noble one day and decided to start it while I was there (I didn't want to buy it). So I got like 80 pages into it and haven't been able to get back to it. That was last week. :-( Finally today, the library got it in, woo hoo! So I will be restarting my read this afternoon. The book so far is pretty good.

28980 Yes, they cover the hard back books to protect the binding. A lot of the time if you take them off the book underneath has no design on it.

28980 I just picked my copy of that up from the library today. I've been dying to read it. I like Scott Westerfeld, he is a little different type of writer, but I think his underlying stories are intriguing and creative.

I don't know if you've read this book, but

Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves by Dia Reeves has demons in it. I don't think its as good as the Mortal Instruments, but I really liked it and the story line is very different (I thought so anyway). Its a YA novel, but it does have the "F" word in it a lot and the main character is a sex fiend, but if that doesn't bother you, I'd say give it a try. It was a fun read.

28980 I just finished The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. I really really liked it! I thought it was a good story and somewhat heart wrenching. It was a fun read, even if it does have to do with death. My next book will probably be The Devil's Queen: A Novel of Catherine de Medici at least that's what I have sitting on my nightstand from the library.

I was so excited to hear about it! I first saw it on the front page of the USA Today newspaper. Then I looked it up on her website. It's only available for about a month online (for free), but I'm with you Jessica, I'm going to have to get a hardback copy for my collection! I love Stephenie Meyer and her writing. The movies are okay (and I think Robert Pattinson is a bad actor and not good looking), but oh well, I still love it all. Its mostly because of the books though. I love the reason why she wrote them and how she describes how it made her feel when she was able to write it.

She lives like 20 minutes west of me and I hope to run into her on "accident" one day. ;-) (I know, I have issues) Because of her I hope to write a book though. That is, when my spare time will allow it.

Me too, I know Arya keeps saying no, but I think something will happen. She seems like she is getting closer to him. What do you think?
