28257 I've read two very good books in the last few weeks. One was The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry and the other Euphoria which I just devoured!

28257 Well, I finally finished reading Wolf Hall. It only took me a month to read, LoL. By the end, I was thoroughly intrigued by Thomas Cromwell. I'm definitely going to continue with the next book Bring Up the Bodies.

28257 It is good but I'm still having a bit of trouble distinguishing the voices and the way the dialogue runs together.

28257 Having too much choice can definitely be a problem. I wish I could stick to reading one book at a time!

28257 I'm reading Wolf Hall.

28257 I just finished reading Lisa's review and a few others. I'll be interested to hear how you react to the book, Gundula.

28257 I didn't realize there was a third Bridget Jones book out.

What Is Visible looks like it might be hard to read.....

28257 Even though I've been quiet here, my reading has picked up! I've powered through a bunch of books in C.J. Cherryh's Foreigner series. The books are a bit repetitive but I still feel compelled to finish out the series for some reason.

I read a fantastic urban fantasy called California Bones by Greg Van Eekhout a few weeks ago. I'd definitely recommend that if you like the genre.

I discovered a kick-ass female protagonist in the military science fiction series "Confederation" by Tanya Huff. The first book in the series is called Valor's Choice.

28257 I'm about to pick up Heart of Steel. I don't read a lot of romance but I enjoyed the first one in this steampunk themed series to try the second.

28257 I just started The Lewis Man. Like the first in this trilogy, has a strong sense of place and interesting characters.

28257 Oh no! I don't blame you for not wanting to continue after that, Lisa.

28257 I haven't read a Nevada Barr book in a while. I just checked and I'm up to number 10 in the series. I do enjoy her books too, some more than others. :-)

28257 I wouldn't call them hard core or violent. This last one was perhaps the least violent if my memory serves me correctly. There is some description of crime scenes but the books are very character driven and that's why I love them. They are a bit gritty but not over the top.

28257 I just finished reading the latest in my favourite mystery series A Dark and Twisted Tide by S.J. Bolton. Great characters!

28257 I'm reading Bitter Seeds

28257 I didn't even know they had made a movie of The Book Thief! I'm so out of it! I'm very curious to see how it stands up to the book. I haven't been to an adult movie in the theatres in a long time, I usually end up borrowing DVD's from the library long after the release date. What else is good from the last year?

28257 Hi Sonja,

I don't live too far from you, I'm in Hamilton. Welcome to the group!

28257 I've got 5 or 6 books from the library to choose from all from different genres. I'm still dithering, here they are..... Wonder, Longbourn, Still Life with Bread Crumbs, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne and a random grab of The Gate House. Hopefully one of these will grab me.
