Good luck to you! They saw something in you that inspired a 2nd interview, so keep up the good work!

Beautiful necklace. I would be touched if a friend got something like that for me & I hope your friend loves it.

26915 The kids are feeling well, up and running. Isn't that how it always goes? Hoping I can keep tylenol on board to stomp this fever and headache. Add in no coffee and I'm a whiny mama. I managed three great pregnancies, so it seems silly to let a virus win.
I think if I could just read without pounding head, then I would welcome some downtime. Lots of studying to do for psych exam on Thursday and then volunteering at intermediate art club after.
Becky, how old are your kids? Mine all loved it, but the five yr old sat in my lap for the bite scene and after. It was well done and not too graphic for kids, imo.

26915 i think i win in the bodily function contest: 5 yr old brought home a stomach virus, sick all weekend. last night it hit me, the 8 yr old and the teen. my house is quarantined.

26915 If you are looking for any gift ideas for your daughter, my favorite gadget is the Adagio Teas Ingenuitea Teapot. It gives the leaves lots of room to float and swirl while steeping and then when you place it over your mug, the tea strains though the filter at the bottom. With good tea, you can re-steep 2 or sometimes 3 times. Best of all, its acrylic and not glass. Or maybe that just makes it perfect for me. ;)

26915 thanks…and yes, those songs stick with you. several years ago, we left the kids with grandparents to go away for the weekend with another couple. four adults in the car, traveling to a concert and we realized about 2 hours into the trip that we had been listening to the kids music. that was the moment we all felt our age.

26915 I had to come and check out the daily chat when Kimberly said the convo was a little crazy today. LOL at the Everybody Poops book: my father in law was horrified the first time he saw it. I think it is time to pass our copy along to a friend with toddlers.

I might be a little punchy as the day goes on. The little one is home sick today, so I suspect a day full of Super Why and other pbs shows on the couch while I try to complete some online classwork. Where are those headphones again?!

26915 Do most here have a preference of coffee, or are there any tea drinkers in the group? I enjoy both and will go through stages of favoring one over the other. Something I read about not long ago is the "off the menu" drinks of Starbucks and now the beloved pumpkin spice latte is sitting on the bench when I treat myself. The new favorite is called a "dirty chai" or "dirty hippy" if you get soy in lieu of dairy; it is a chai tea latte with an espresso shot. Lovely, lovely drink. The espresso tones the sweetness of the chai just enough without overpowering the spice.

26915 Hello group! I'm Carey, lifelong resident of Central Fl., married, mother of 3 and full-time student. I dabble in photography, cooking and, naturally, reading. I've tried to get some of my local friends involved in a book club, but between chaotic schedules and different tastes in literature, it has just never panned out. As far as books go, I enjoy reading quite a variety of things: classics, modern literature, plays and monologues, chick lit, as well as non-fiction works. My non-fictional books tend towards parenting and child development, cooking and food related, feminist studies, photography and other arts. I have lofty ambitions of learning to knit, crochet and/or sew someday, but so far, I am better off reading about these activities.

I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone. Off to pour the first coffee of the day (I love the beep from the coffee maker as the brewing completes).
