So there I was, about 10 years ago, with my girlfriend, sitting in an all-night diner discussing the UFO phenomenon when the subject of Ezekiel came up. You know - the book of Ezekiel in the Bible? Yup, that one. Well, Ezekiel's detailed description of the strange object that he encountered reads (through modern eyes) like a description of a mechanical flying craft. It occurred to me that this would make a great premise for a new Spielberg sci-fi movie with some really interesting and controversial religious aspects. But, alas, how to reach him? It was out of the question. Then it hit me. I'm a writer. Why don't I write a novel based on this idea? So I started working it out in my head and as the idea progressed I decided to incorporate two more things into the story: (1) my work with the English alphabet and the possibility that it is encoded (http://hometown.aol.com/codeufo/gematria...) and (2) the year 2012, the enigmatic end of the ancient Mayan calendar.

Now, nearly 10 years later, it is finally done and published as "THE EZEKIEL CODE".
