Finished Black and White. I liked it a lot. Great start to a new series! Started
I am starting on this book. I am so excited. Briggs is one of my favorite. I mean really in the top 5.

ok, two down and one to go. Heart Shaped Box ..." I liked it also, although I thought it kind of drug in the middle. There are hints in his style that his dad is the master, Stephen King, dont you think!
No, I wasn't aware of that. I like his darkside series so I thought this looked like good fantasy with a dark tint. I still love fantasy. The fact is is a series starter may cause me to put it further down the list cause I have soo many to read. thans for the info though.

Once again all my reserves came in at the same time so here is my box set, and my October to read list, and ooops I forgot this little gem that is sitting at work. Hunting Ground
I think I will try this one. It will take me a minute to pull a list together. I like the longer timeframe then a month. I read in spirts, then I take care of all the stuff I didn't do while I was reading. Im doing the otherstuff mostly right now but still reading. Just slow.

oh darn. i am looking forward to it. now im nervious to rec. on other thread. (sorry, im typing 1 handed w baby in other)
I have read all but the last few of this series. I like it. I love the guilt free sex. I like the gay brother and that plotline. The club scene--it is just great to experience vicariously.
I will read the rest, but too much new stuff to choose from.
You know, I didn't like the sookie books until at least the second one, but everyone was so crazy about them I kept going and sure enough, I fell into them. Now a Sookie Fan, although I may like other charicters better then her (cough-eric).
No, I take that back they all are good. Book two has more world building because it happens in an enclosed experiment mostly. The slow building of relationships is good too.
I won't say more cause more is revealed in each book. Kind of like the sookie books. The world unfolds wilder and more supernatural with each book.
I have read all three. I am awaiting rather toe tappishly book 4. (Aug 4th I beleive) I like 1 & 3 best. The Polterguist one was good, but not as good as the other two in my opinion.
I am really swamped with tbr for this month. I really have meant to read this one. If I can get to it I will. I look forward to following your discussion anyway.

i actually really like like this series. its been a while since i read it. I like the dark world. Definitely like the computer guy. I like the way the world slowly unfurls.

The kid thing is what freaked me out about Pet Cemetary and now that I think on it the original Children of the Corn.
A movie I saw as a kid that scared the heck out of me was Hush Sweet Charlotte ( not sure thats the exact name). It was about a psycho murdering lady. Its blurry, I think I should look for it. It is black and white and a really big star ( the one Mommy Dearest is about) was in it.
I actually thought candyman was kind of spooky too. Its the concept. Didn't you used to tell those type tales when you were a kid.
I agree about Pet Sematary. Scared me along with Amnityville Horror (the Book).
All of early King books scared me (probobly through Cujo)
As far as movies, Nightmere on Elmstreet, when it first came out, scared me.(after the first time, it isnt so scary, even hokey)
The Ring (Movie) scared me.
Event Horizon scared me.
Hanabal just grossed me out so bad I lost taste for gore for a while. (eating his own brains--ewwwww).
*Slight spoiler regarding Kitty and the Dead Mans Hand
Although I am in the middle of The Stand, and a little ways into In the Courts of the Sun, I got an overdue notice on Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand, and Kitty Raises Hell so I dug in. I forgot how much I like this series, or else it is getting better.
I tell you, even though those kittys in Vegas are bad guys,I likes um.
I am done with the first and half through Raises Hell.
I needed some light reading.
Linda,
I am really interested in what you think of "A Forest of Hands and Teeth". I have heard some good buzz, and am curious how a YA book approuches Zombies. IT is on my "to read as soon as I finish this pile" list do please let us know when you finish it.
