I have a question about poetry.com.
One friend of mine told me never to submit to the site because they can legally claim your poem as their own copyright. That your poem becomes theirs.
Is that true? What if you submitted a poem a long time ago (like when you were 15 and didn't know any better)?

I would message Amy, the moderator of this group. She'll be able to send you a link or some sort of help. She doesn't read through all the threads completely, since there is so many. Just go to the home page for Poets and under her picture is a link that says "send message."
There ARE a lot of good poems in this post. I like several. Such as:

Wasn't sure if we're only allowed one poem to submit or not, so here's another one, just in case.
"Desire"
You comb your hair
in single strands
lace them up in
braids of thorns.
I succomb to your demand
Handle all the roses
Pick them for your pot
of bleeding limbs
and dying stems
A hunger yet to rott.

Tongues
stick out
from the wall
They seem
to laugh
back at me.
Haunt me.
I am reminded
of something
Dirty.
Like…
the time
those guys
in the back
of your class
were mocking
You
Making
Cat calls
with all the
hissing and purring.
The constant
Barking.
Smacking their lips
together
Pursing their lips
Clicking
their tongues
to the top
of their mouths.
Making
Some kind of
licking motion
in my direction.
How I
Despised
them
And wanted to
Rip their
tongues
out
From their throats
Slice them
Open
from front
to back
so I wouldn’t
have to
hear their
Swearing
Anymore
or
their
Gross
Lude humor
about
Women
anymore.
How
a cat
caught my own
tongue
At times
and all
I was told
to do
was hold my
Own
Stay in silence
and not make
any more
Disturbance.
How much
I swallowed
my own
and, yet
only lashed
it out
when
Threatened.
What putrid
a concept.
How

Agreed. I have already emailed the moderator of this group to ask about it. It looks like March is already done with but they have yet to put up anything for April postings. I'll let you know once I get a reply back from her.
