SIGNS
When we take the mask off
No longer able to hide our true self
Receiving free immunizations
From the world’s ugliness
South of fabulous ensuring strangulation
Talk of tap dancing angels
The devil was born in heaven
Constant rain brings danger of drowning
Reaching for a helping hand
Fruitless as doing a drive-by on hell
Having more than paid the price
Knowing full well tears are shed in vein
Words do not make us wise
Answering the questioning morals
Unable to pay the piper
The sick cast over the side of the ship
To swim with no life preservers
The Dead Wear Pale Blue
The dead wear pale blue
Blowing kisses with solar winds
In the direction of pale blue loved ones
Where the only garden grows
Time is measured in eons
Unheard avalanches on mars
Storms rant and rave on Jupiter
Nebulas spiral columns gleam brighter
Than the pale blue self-aggrandized
Supposed center of the universe
In the infinite night sky
On the edge of a mystifying solar system
In the vast darkness of space
No festival of colors
Distinguishes us from one another
From the endless perspective of the cosmos
There is pale blue and nothing more
Breathless motions of heavily bodies
Spinning around generations of stars
A pale blue anomaly slowly orbits though
The black ocean of an immeasurable universe
Michael
Unhappy with its own happiness
Building concrete mediums
Separating truth from reality
Walking barefoot though streets
Of emotionally wrecked dreams
Stumbling downhill towards
Life's dead end
Shouting at unseen shadows
Psychological devastation
His alone to bear
Seven degrees of separation
When will you care?
Rewind
Women disproportionably pay the price
And accept the unforgiving weight
Of mankind’s impulsive actions
Wishing the tables were turned
In order to balance the unbalanced
Avoiding stares of disappointment
And the ever-increasing fear
Of being treated like a contagious disease
Constantly reminded the cousin of lust is slut
A silent rage builds
Stone walls are constructed
Whispers heard loudly
Saying no was the only choice
But the rewind button is broken
Hello to all my fellow poetry lovers! I hope to meet people not afraid to be honest commenting on my poems. In life I follow, the rule “If you don’t have anything good to say then don’t say anything at all” but this does not make you a better writer. Peace :-)
