I love In the Palm of Your Hand by Steve Kowit.While I think more theoretical work is a good read too, if I really want to get writing, this is the book. Specific exercises that spur absolutely individual thought and expansive images. It introduced me to Dorianne Laux.
I am anxious to look up your suggestion though, Nina.

I know feelings vary widely on Bly, and perhaps it is because I am a Minnesotan, but we used Robert Bly's "The Third Body" for our 1988 wedding.
