Hi Malcolm,

Nice job! You can't imagine how many writers have a difficult time writing a good letter to send in with their submission. The bio's especially:)

I am sure this will be helpful to all. I have enjoyed reading all your posted poetry as well.

Good luck with all your writing and publishing endeavors.

Ami

"Pirene's Fountain." Feel free to check it out and/or make submissions: http://www.pirenesfountain.com
We're always on the search for new material:)
It is my pleasure and privilege to be among all of you!

I was born in Paris, France, and have traveled widely. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling with graduate studies in English literature and criticism.Besides poetry, I have written short stories and one-act plays. My poems have appeared in various journals and I am working on my second novel.

I look forward to getting to know you all, and your poetry, of course!

233 Hi Nina,
I'm Ami. You have the right idea. It is true what you say about the difficulty of predicting an editor's preferences, and I know this because I publish a poetry journal called Pirene's Fountain. We have four editors who really dislike writing those "Sorry, we can't use any of your poetry for this edition" letters. Most editors are painstaking and diligent in their reading and many times have a difference of opinion about selections.

However, submitting poets can significantly increase their chances of selection if their submission is well balanced with a variety of styles and subjects. As long as the writing is top notch, there is a good chance something will be selected. "Circulating" work is certainly a good idea!

I am also a new member and it is wonderful to be in the company of people such as yourself who share the same love for reading and writing poetry.

Warmest regards,
Ami

233 Hi Nadia,
Welcome! I just joined this group as well and it looks like fun! I will be very happy to have you as a friend and will add your name as soon as I have finished writing this post:)

I'm Ami and I introduced myself somewhere but I am still trying to find my way around. I publish an online poetry journal called Pirene's Fountain and write both poetry and fiction. My work has been published in various journals and it is wonderful to be around people who share my passion for reading and writing poetry.

See you around,
Ami:)

233 Hi All,
It is great to be here in the company of others who share my passion for reading and writing poetry:)

I'm Ami Kaye. My poetry has been published in various print and online journals and I am also working on two poetry collections which are slated for publication next year. The following year, I hope to launch my first two novels.

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and like many others was sidetracked by
other pursuits.I returned to writing 5 years ago and poetry about 2 years ago.

For all interested, I publish an online poetry journal called Pirene's Fountain: http://www.pirenesfountain.com

Please feel free to submit. We have four editors who read/select submissions and we are always on the lookout for fresh material.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!
A Bientot,
Ami
