Does anyone have any idea or suspicions of who might be Erec's Father? For some reason I am thinking King Piter is his father.
What are everyone's thoughts on the the third book? Did you get what you were expecting?

That is a nice observation Denae. Never thought about that. So true. It kind of relates to real life. Don't need hi-tech stuff to accomplish things like most peopole depend on now days. Just think of what they used back in the old days to get things done.

What is your favorite thing about the series so far? It can be anything, from the characters to the way the book is written.
My favorite thing of all so far is the 12 quests and how Erec figures out what he needs to do to win them. That's the difference between him and his arch nemesis, Balor. Erec understands the moral of each quest deeply and Balor is so closed minded and arrogant that he only sees the surface of the quests.
I think Erec will be doing some soul searching in this book. Trying to find out who exactly he is,where exactly he is from, and what exactly is his story/past. Because he still unclear of who he is.
Even though this book doesn't hit the shelves until October, I was just wondering if anyone had any expectations? Based on the subtitle, what do you think will happen in this book?
I agree Laura. Especially for detectives.
Do you think Kaza puts a modern twist to the Erec Rex series? I do . I mean the people in Alympium use remote controls to do magic.

What do you think of the epilogues at the end of each book? Do you think they answer some questions or create more puzzling mysteries?
I think the epilogues are somewhat helpful. I look at each epilogue as a piece of the puzzle and I slowly began to see the whole picture.
Which magical objects do you think would be useful in your life?
Well for me, it would be that live alarm clock. I am hard of hearing so alarm clocks dont really work for me. I need an alarm clock like Erec's, something jumping on me to wake me up..lol. Another useful obect would be those washers/dryers in King Piters castle. I think everyone could use something like that.
It seems a lot of people are listing similarites between Erec Rex and Harry Potter. Do you think the two series are similar or different?
In my opinion: In general, plotwise, the two series are the same in the fact that each series is about a 11 year old boy who discovers a magical world and discovers things he never knew about himself.
As far as story details, character's situation, etc, they are completely different.
Erec is adopted, his parents are alive, he doesnt who or what they are, where they are. He spends his time between King Piter's castle and home with his adoption mother, adopted brothers and sisters.
Harry's parents are dead. Spends his time between Hogwarts and his Uncle and Aunt's house, etc. He has a godfather.
I can go on and on about plot details and characters etc. But you get the idea.
One thing that really distuinges Erec Rex from Harry Potter is that Kaza brings a modern twist to her books, for example the remote controls used to do magic. Another example is the hassle of paper work..lol...from book 2 when Erec gets his first quest.
My favorite character has to be Bethany. My least favorite is definitely Balor Stain. He is so arrogant, greedy, and full of himself.
