I find you have to look to the smaller houses for the titles that will interest you again. That is why I go to the comic con every couple years. I always spend time and money at the smaller publishers and bring home gems I relish--that often later become major bigtime hits.
I have not seen the book, but oh have i loved the animation. Is it worth for me to go and search for the issue(s)?
I nod with mark. I have my borders card that gets me discounts and every so often a piece of paper that acts as money--the last one was 5 dollars of borders money--good on anything in the store! my borders has a good graphics section one of the largest manga selections i have ever seen, and we are in little northwest IN! i wish i had the funds to do San diego once. When i was out there 5 years ago, I tried to find some shops--they must have been hiding under rocks.for i could only locate on tiny shop in a bad part of town. I am supreme on trips for finding anything to go see or do--but comics in the comic mecca was a void!
i for several years avoided the evil vile amazon, and shopped the local stores, but then i was seduced by the devil prices and have not looked back. to ease my guilt, i do 60% of my business with independent sellers on amazon, though 3.99 is pricey for shipping. and they do not combine. i also wait to go to the comic con--chicago this year was a buyers market!!!! i feel that was due to economic issues currently. i went friday and it was not crowded as usually. freebies sucked! 20-90% off graphics depending on what you were looking for. everyone was willing to take a few dollars off to make a sale. i have not local shops, unless i go to chicago, then it is Quimby's--i do drop major money every time i go there--graphics and zines--there are the mecca in chicago to go to! also chicago comics--i could spend a grand in there, without blinking--their selection is beyond huge!
atomic books on-line has me always dreaming of ordering from them--what a cool store and great selection they have.
