220 Thanks for reporting this, we'll try and investigate before importing more ingram data.
220 We've got a batch of maybe a million replacements cover images we should do in the next week or so, but i don't think we'll be able to replace all of the missing ones.

If it was my favorite book ever, I'd upload a cover, but otherwise i'd probably wait until next week.
220 All of the derived numerical data: book/work average ratings, ratings/reviews counts, authors works counts, author avg ratings, etc; will likely get messed up while we're in the process of moving, deleting, resourcing all of this amazon data.

We're going to rebuild all that stuff after the database settles down a bit, probably on tuesday.

220 Also i didn't want to get all these PMs from angry librarians about my changes, so better to use his user id. :)

220 I started it at user_id 0 (which should show up as 'goodreads') but there was a bug with that :(

220 I have two scripts running right now. One is rerunning the ingram title/authors/isbn/isbn13s. It's a little greedy than before (it should override more of the amazon titles and author names).

The other is getting rid of descriptions, urls, and page numbers from books that were provided by the amazon api. The librarian logs may show up as belonging to Otis (user id 1).

IF you see any issues please let me know.

I'll be getting rid of the publish date, publisher, format, and images from amazon on saturday or sunday i think.

220 Both of those flat file imports are finished.
Jan 24, 2012 09:10PM

220 the isbndb import is almost done. we might make another pass for extra data (page numbers/publsiher, publication date, etc).
Jan 24, 2012 09:09PM

220 better sooner than later.
Jan 24, 2012 08:23PM

220 I'll work on reverting those tomorrow.
Jan 24, 2012 04:42PM

220 I think rerunning it this time will fix any of those subtitles it clobbered.
Jan 24, 2012 04:39PM

220 Ok, i was ignoring subtitles. I fixed it so it wasn't.

I'll restart this importer now. Thanks for the heads up!!!
Jan 24, 2012 04:28PM

220 I stopped it.

I'm not sure what the issue here was, i didn't expect it change that title.
Jan 23, 2012 12:00PM

220 the second of those was from onix feed direct from publisher. (which hopefully isn't running anymore).

The first one does seem like a flaw in the data. I'll keep an eye on it.

220 the isbndb file is going in alphabetical order. I looked over a sample set, and I seemed like it was alright, but just if you happen to see anything screwed up, and the librarian log is attributed to 'isbndb' please let me know!
Jan 21, 2012 04:14PM

220 I jsut kicked of a isbn db data importer, like the ingram importer I'm oing going to let it update 10 thousand books (as a sample set), and it's only touching the author, title, isbn, and isbn13 fields.

If you see anything unusual with this data, please let me know!
