I only have 4, they're all book club editions, and they're all pre-1992. But none have numbers of any kind -- on the cover, title page, or anywhere else.
Some are not; I found some no-ISBN editions that were unique and legitimate. (Pre-1960s editions, etc.)

Actually, it was more than one. I'm in the "just delete" camp. The guidelines when creating a book are pretty clear.

Those weird ISBNs are all B&N's fault, which is why they've just shown up recently.
They have to be listed as author (editor) on some books, because there is no other author of record.For books like these, listing them secondarily as editor makes sense.
