Thanks, Diane. After what you and Peg both said I'll add it to my reading list. What a great community this is!
What can you tell me about "Lucky" by Alice Sebold? I read "The Lovely Bones" and it was good but I was also disappointed in some of it. I've been debating on reading "Lucky" but can't decide so thought I'd ask the group. If you read both, how do you compare the two?
Christen,Has your book club read these two? "Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafron and "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" by Dave Eggers? I read Shadow and it was great. I've talked to people from early 20's to people in their 70's and everyone loved it. I haven't read the Eggers book but everyone I've talked to raved about it. It's on my long list of books to read. Thanks the Goodreads that list is growing by the minute!
You'll have to let all of us know what your group reads that you enjoyed.
Yes, it was hilarious! Another great book along the same lines is "Kotter's Back: E-mails from a faded celebrity to a bewildered world" by Gabe Kaplan. He wrote a modern day version using emails instead of letters. I saw him recently at our local bookstore and he was as funny as ever and had more great stories to tell. The reason for starting the book in the first place is such a crazy story.
