30.3 - Jonquil’s Task- May all of your ups and downs in life be with a needle and thread:

Your Folk Art assignment is to design a quilt theme for two of the less-well-known quirky holidays that occur during September -November from the Fun Holidays website’s list

Book 1: October 13 - International Skeptics Day

My quilt has an eyeball in the center to represent me and my skepticism, and my belief that, "seeing is believing." Surrounding the eye are mythical creatures and stuff of folklore, like zombies, a half man/half beast creature, giant sea monsters and vampires, all things of which I am skeptical of their existence.

Book 2: November 17 - Take a Hike Day

My quilt has the undulating pattern of waves, water and mountain ranges below a setting sun that represent the views I most enjoy when out taking a hike.

Against All Grain: Delectable Paleo Recipes to Eat Well & Feel Great by Danielle Walker

Against All Grain Delectable Paleo Recipes to Eat Well & Feel Great by Danielle Walker

I love to cook and bake, but confess my favorite meals and desserts are not always the healthiest. I am trying to incorporate healthier meals and options into my diet. I learned quite a bit from Walker's book and now won't feel so intimidated trying to use coconut and almond flour in my baking or subbing out refined sugar for natural sweetners. I'm anxious to get in the kitchen and try her paleo recipes too.

21757 I suggest the theme: "Wonders of the World"

There are several subcategories to choose from: ancient, modern, medieval, and natural. Other lists include: underwater world, solar system world, industrial and age of steam. I think there are lots of possibilities with these categories.

Here are some links to get ideas:

21757 I would like to read a book from the Chesapeake Shores series by Sheryl Woods. I have read the first 4 books and would like to read #5 for this task. Chesapeake Shores is a new Hallmark TV series based on this series of books.

I wanted to make sure this is okay. It looks like other book series, like Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series, shows individual books in the list you posted for suggestions.
