With those three names I am surprised I have not heard of it yet (huge star-crush on Mr. Walken - odd, I know, but...). Will reserve at the library as soon as it is on dvd.
I recently watched DEFIANCE (about the Bielski brothers). That was pretty good. It was really neat to go onto imdb.com and read the discussions. The son of Zus and Bella (real name was Sonia) posts to the discussions. His handle is "bellskee".
I just watched THE ORPHANAGE (El orfanato) last night. Wow. Loved it. I would compare it to THE CHANGLING (1980 starring George C. Scott) as far as quality of the story and feeling when the movie ends.
I thought the movie was alright. I would not go out of my way to see it again, but would not mind watching if it was playing on cable one evening. I do plan on reading the book at some point, as the movie did spark my interest.
Just watched RUN FATBOY RUN. Did not care for the movie much. It failed to deliver everything I thought it was offering.
I remember going to the drive-in with my folks to see this. I was about nine years old. This movie really scared me! Wow. And, at 37 years old it still is one of my favorites. In fact, all four of the movies are great. Now the whole AVP thing. Not that keen on. Both of those movies took up valuable time in my life. Don't know why I did not learn my lesson after the first one and so deserve the misery I got.

sorry, that role is taken...haha by me...!!!!!!!!"
"I have two words for you. Brush your teeth!" - goodness, that character is a hoot! I have a friend with a tattoo of Tank Girl (full body) down her arm. The best part is that the tattoo has a tattoo of herself on her arm also.

Lauren: My son didn't realize how many people were unaware (or refused to admit to themselves) what was happening at the camps. So, the mother's reaction when she realized what the smell was and continued marital/emotional decline did not make sense to him. On that same note, he had a hard time understanding that Bruno was really, truly confused. He kept thinking the kid should know more than he did. I do have to say, this was a great movie to follow-up with a conversation about the mindset of the German people at the time.
I think I would like to read the book.
Took my son to see ZOMBIELAND Saturday night. It was o.k., but nothing really special. He thought it was great. I would say it is just me, that I am too old to appreciate the humor, but I love some pretty silly movies.
Just watched "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" Friday with my son. We both liked it. But, I think I did more than he did. Partly because he doesn't understand enough about the Holocaust. I make him watch all the genocide movies, but he doesn't always "get" the finer points. I had to explain some things afterwards but by then effect from the movie had already happened. The end was so sad. The mother's response finally tipped me over the edge from sad to a waterfall.

I was watching a re-run of "Family Guy" last night and Peter Griffin made a comment about playing Pink Floyd to The Wizard of Oz.

Haha - I actually bullied my girlfriend into watching the movie. I brought it up every time we talked for two months before she finally rented it. (she loved it, btw).
Anyway: I really like IKIRU (1952, I believe).
My son (14 or so at the time) got so upset watching HOTEL RWANDA (I was, too) that we had to stop the movie twice for what he called "the get it together minute". Great movie. The other movie (Dancy and Hurt) is called SHOOTING DOGS.
