hey nice thread!
No connection with the movie, I just like to listen to I Walk The Line sometimes, really nice guitar...i used to like Bodyguard but don't feel like it now, I'm looking for a song from Blade3, haven't found it yet...and Lion King cos of the kids, and Aladdin for the kids again, can't think of anything else
Phillip :) oakland is my favourite city now!!
;;;;;;
The only orphanage movie I have ever seen is Annie with the bald actor (sorry I can't remember his name).
Sam: love & other disasters - haven't seen it but it sounds like my life
:ohhh!
I am really beginning to appreciate how different British and Hollywood cinema is, maybe we should have a folder for movies from the Uk and Down Under, (I think can name a few movies now so I won't be embarassed to raise the topic)
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Phillip: where is what? my home? yes i meant your home, if it's not too personal a question since you said you were homesick, cos it could mean you are living in another state different from where you grew up...etc, cheers.
;;;;;;;;;;;
I have seen Primal Fear, Edward Norton is amazing, but I felt the movie had a weak ending, I was imagining ...welll all kinds of weird stuff, it was bad what he did i suppose but maybe didn't sound as gross as the ambitious title, (ok frankly i was going for animal behaviour or ...)
Phillip: i've been home sick for a few days
where is it? and are you really adopted?
:::::::::
Oh and I watched another sort of UK romantic comedy which had Brittany Murphy playing an American girl working in I suppose London or somewhere. The movie is called "Love and other Disasters" it was even funny more than once, has a lot of gay stuff and also talks about Breakfast at Tiffany's
If anyone watches it, please look out for the poem, I went mad at the way she reads it!!!! :D
I love the Christopher Walken song "This or That"...so this game is all about choices. So if a person posts two choices, choose one and post your two choices for the next person...
ants? ok that doesn't sound so bad, I was thinking of women rising from the swamp in the dead of the night.....! ")
I think I can now tell who Bruce Campbell is... Just saw one of his movies, The Woods. I couldn't tell if it was a B movie though, I would give it like two stars maybe or not want to rate at all.
hey, since this group is on Matt Damon, one of my favourite actors, I really like to watch him in ::Ocean's 11 ::movies, and also ::The Bourne:: movies. I didn't like his ::The Talented Mr. Ripley:: even though he made the character quite real. I also saw him in ::Syriana ::where I felt he didn't have much to do and :: All the pretty Horses :: with Penelope Cruz which was a kinda sad/sweet movie. Another sort of tragic movie was ::Gerry::
I have also seen ::The Legend of Bagger Vance:: which was a really quaint era movie with hats and hair perms. I was surprised to know, from imdb, that Matt was in ::Eurotrip::, I can't remember what he did, considering I liked that movie cos it was so far out in true 'teen' movie tradition!!
So, ummm I haven't seen any new/old movies recently except for a bit of ::The Avengers:: *ing Uma Thurman, it has a real downplayed (I'm guessing stiff British upper lip kind)dialogue between Uma and Ralph Fiennes (I don't really get his acting)...:)
I would love to watch Rebecca the movie cos I have read the book and maybe also Thirty Nine Steps (though not so much cos I'm not into Hitchcock) cos I have read that book too ..and Jude Law, uhhhhhh I wonder why he does such bizarre characters...
I got a few I like, some of them are also dystopic/apocalyptic however..
::::::::
Equilibrium
The Core
Men in Black I
Alien
Starship Troopers
Stargate
Chronicles of Riddick
Terminator 2
Final Fantasy iii (animated)
Ghosts of Mars
Contact (even if it's a bit long)
yay I got to 10, I can't remember a few more...
Cissy: American Psycho is wonderful...
I watched that movie and Christian Bale was chilling!! I kinda like his acting, this role was so different from the usual hero stuff he usually does like in Reign of Fire, Equilibrium, The Prestige...
Totally unrelated, ...I came across this old old post where Phillip was doing the best movies of 2006. Anyone doing 2009?
ohh does anyone know Tom Cruise's real name? It is not Cruise at all but a titled 'monstrosity' (if any Cruise fanatic didn't like that you can make fun of my name too if you like..)
I love this genre. I would watch anything remotely sci-fi for unfathomable reasons (at the moment). It might be difficult to name top 10 considering so many out there, but definitely worth a try.
Phillip...CANE TOADS???!!?!?!?!?!...
exactly my thought...what will the Oz people do next?/
Sam, do you mean you found the toad and bred it so you hunt it? *woke up with cotton wool in my head, you know*
And...and...do I smell a goodreads romance in the breeze...?
AAhhh the good old days when aliens were scary and memorable...!! *sighs*
It is just dead people now and the aliens are cute little blue people trying to act...ALas!!
Mawgojzeta : I would want to be Lori Petty in Tank Girl.
...
sorry, that role is taken...haha by me...!!!!!!!!
...just wondering if anyone would like to play connect the movie, looks for the earlier thread that has been inactive since april 2008...*shrugs*...gets boring sometimes with all work(reviewing a movie) and no fun!!...
