You gotta admire the gall of the Nevada governor. Prostitution, gambling, quickie drunk weddings to hookers at 3am, all that's cool. But heaven forbid gay people get to visit their partners of 20 years in the hospital.
That reminds me, a friend of mine is getting married this weekend. Unfortunately, since this is Oklahoma, he'll have to move out of state to be legally recognized. Oklahoma: Marching bravely toward the 14th century.
I really need to read Infidel. It's been sitting on my to-be-read bookshelf for over a year, mocking me with its pages yet to be read.

South Carolina needs to stop electing patients from the severe head trauma wards of the local hospitals. So does Oklahoma, for that matter. [/okie :]

My views are no longer welcome and will no longer be tolerated lest they lead some innocent lamb away from the arms of Jesus and into the jaws of death and fires of hell. Tom, what is it about what people have said in this thread that leads you to believe that any of them are anti-Semitic? Be specific. Use examples. Sweeping declarations of anti-Semitism don't mean much without something to back it up.Yes, there are many people in the world who are anti-Semitic. No one disagrees with that. But you specifically say "you" in this thread for the people here who come from a Xtian background. I'm still trying to see where the anti-Semitism is that you claim the people in this group suffer from.
Oh, I do love Rapture Ready. Those people are a special kind of crazy. They actually have a thread somewhere (probably hidden away now because I haven't been able to find it in several years) called "Hold Me Accountable". It's just one post after another about how many days they've managed not to masturbate. Not to mention the posts where one of them messes up and "accidentally" spills his seed. One claimed he did it while trying to put some sort of topical cream on his penis.

I think there was a saying...something along the lines of "Education is like an STD: it makes you ill suited for some jobs and you have the urge to pass it on."
Hey, ladies and gents, if you're interested in a new discussion, it appears we have one over here:http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1446...
Check out D.C.
Even if a book truly sucks, I take great pains to try and read it all the way through. The DaVinci Code was one of the few I stopped reading and had to fight the desire to keep from throwing against a wall (the vampire crap known as Twilight being the only other one I can remember feeling the same way about from the past ten years). But hey, if that's the Illuminati, I'm in.* ;)

Not to derail the thread or anything, but I'm really sorry to hear about your mom, Jake. :(

It's a standard YEC talking point. Usually comes pre-packaged with "natural selection is random," "what good is half a wing," and some misunderstanding about the second law of thermodynamics.

Love that book.
