I have found in this busy time, I have been going back to books I have read before. I just seem to need the comfort of them and not the challenge of reading and getting into a new book. I am sure once the holiday's are over, I will get back into it.
Merry Christmas to you all!!
118. Anne of the Island by L.M.MontgomeryJust re-read this book again and was struck by how much I still LOVE this story. It is still as classic and timeless as it was when I first picked it up.
Yes, I am aware I left out #117. To be honest, I can't remember what I just read. Oh dear. And I don't have my book nearby. Will add it in a bit. Well, as you can tell, THAT book made an impression! LOL :)
115. Homespun Bride (Love, Inspired) by Jillian Hart <--was NOT all that impressed with this one. And I like this author. Blech.116. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
VERY interesting book. Very engaging. GREAT storyline. And it really kept me intrigued. Makes you really think about family. LOVED IT!
I CANNOT wait to get this book. I have put the special edition on my wish list and am hoping I get that for Christmas. Either way, I am getting some copy of it. Your review has made me so excited to get this book. I cannot wait to read it and see what I think. I am so grateful for your reviews...it makes them either come alive or sends me scurrying away!! :-) And I mean that in a good way.
I have been around, but not really posting. Have been going through a period of anti-socialness, but am coming out of that now and am back in the land of the living. :-) How have things been with you?
Have you read "The Thirteenth Tale"? GREAT book!! Would love to know your take on it!!
108. The Bookseller of Kabul by Asne SeierstadA VERY good book and really worth the wait of finding it and then finding the time to read it. Lovely!!
109. The Bright Forever by Lee Martin
Well-written and an Ok read, though highly disturbing on MANY levels. And the end will just flip you out.

106. Family Ever After (Love, Inspired) by Margaret Daley
99. On What Grounds (A Coffeehouse Mystery) by Cleo Coyle100. Amazing Grace by Megan Schull
What if you were a 15 year old tennis phenom and you decide you want out? And you walk away from everything?
Follow Grace as she does just that and as she escapes to a place no one will think to look for her and in the process discovers just who she might be. GREAT easy read. YA ~ 13-17
101. A Dream to Share by Irene Hannon (Love Inspired)
102. Her Unlikely Family by Missy Tippens (Love Inspired)
I DID NOT see the trailer!!! HOLY COW!!!! I want to see the trailer!!!! ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!You should SO read "The Last Lecture" before HBP. Its a quick read (well, for me it was except for all the internal struggle I had with it and with what I was reading and blah blah blah...but seriously, this book CHANGED MY LIFE!!) and then you can fully delve into HBP.
My weekend was good. As you will see below I got some reading in. It was GROSS on Saturday and rained all freaking day and the husband thought it was great fun to go traipsing around in it. Which DID NOT amuse me at all. We did find the underground mall though and that was very cool!! And then Sunday was so beautiful. We had a lovely time.
I am trying to figure out if I can afford tickets to see Equus. I really want to now. Will keep you informed. :-)
Oh, I almost forgot....GO PHILLIES!!!!!

98. Island of the Innocent (re-read) ~ Gilbert Morris and Lynn Morris
Hey Paula!!I am back in TO and have been catching up!! How was Equus??? I have been dying to know!!!
I LOVE "Sonnets from the Portuguese". The only poetry I own actually.
Did the Phillies make the World Series????? (I have been SO out of the loop!!)
Ummm....how expensive is expensive?? Because now you have me intrigued... :-) I am going to my mom's and know I can take a train from her house to NYC for cheap....hmmmmmmmYeah, I have to admit I edited while reading. I have read it like 6 times already so I don't feel bad doing it. :-)
87. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. RowlingI still get so upset when I read this book (at the end). I still get mad at the author for what she does to Harry. Still, its a great book and there is a ton of information here. It was great to re-read this one too!!
88. O Pioneers by Willa Cather
I like this book, but it never captured my attention and imagination like "My Antonia" did. Even now, after just finishing this book, I remember very little about it (except the ending, which I have to admit, I didn't care for very much). Sigh. I did like the writing and the book was enjoyable, but not memorable, at least for me.
I like this author, and I will read more by her, but I really wish I had liked this one more.
I am just past where he gave the interview and Umbridge tries to sack Professor Trewlany. Its getting to where it really picks up now. I am bored too, but can't seem to get into the reading. I am hoping to go to my mom's next week and I usually read quite a bit there, so I am hoping to get back into it then. I have SO many new ones to delve into...I hope the excitement over them comes back soon....
YAY about the Brooklyn booksale. I think that will be awesome!! Are you getting excited about Equs (SP)? I know you all are going to have a great time! The husband and I are taking a mini (VERY mini) holiday to Montreal. I am pretty excited about that. I wonder if they have good used bookstores there??? Hmmmmm.....
86. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. RowlingI still love this book. And as I was reading it, I was reminded of WHY I dislike this movie so much. Not as much as "Prisoner of Azkaban", which in my opinion they totally ruined, but still, this movie SHOULD have been great and it was so not. But the books still holds up and it was so enjoyable to read again.
Geez, you are on a roll aren't you?? I am still in my book funk and am just re-reading the Harry Potter books, though I bought over 20 books yesterday at the "Word on the Street". Next year, I plan on going to the one in Brooklyn. We should have a big "Goodreads" meet there!! :-) YAY!I am also trying to finish "O Pioneers". I have been reading it on the bus/subway when I have been going out. I am enjoying it, but it has never captured my attention and imagination like "My Antonia" did. But still, its enjoyable.
How was your weekend?
85. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. RowlingGosh I love re-reading these books. I just watched the first two movies so just picked up the third book to start the re- read there.
I like that this book isn't all about Voldemort and how he tried to kill Harry. This delves more into Harry's life and his Dad's life and there is a TON more Quidditch and its just such an enjoyable read. It is my favorite of the books.
84. The Westing Game by Ellen RaskinA quick re-read for me. I LOVE this book and I love going back and re-reading it because I always have to try and figure out what is going on. So silly since I have read it a million times. There is just something about it.
Moving on to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban...sometimes, you just need familiar, and that is where I am right now.
