Molly, I didn't care for this book but i gave it three stars anyway because the author was able to deliver a poignant and compelling story about two women in modern day india (one poor one rich) sharing a 'friendship/bond' but vastly seperated due to class and culture.

2051 Melanie, thanks for your thoughts.

It makes two of us, I didn't know anything about Frank Floyd Wright's personal life either prior to this novel.

I agree, it was very hard to like the characters including Mamah. I could understand her reason for wanting 'out' of her loveless but otherwise perfect marriage however I had a hard time understanding the manner in which she chose to leave. Not to mention her decision to leave her young children behind with a friend! I was shocked by the ending to say the least and I do not believe Mamah's poor choices in life lead to her [her children's:] violent death.

Thanks for the book recommendation :-)

Happy Reading

What did you think of Loving Frank? Do you think Mamah "got" what she deserved?
