This is one of my favorite reads, ever...but I can't say I have a favorite character. The Comedian is an amoral sadistic thug. Rorschach is a deranged right-wing psychopath with serious mommy issues. Ozy is a megalomanic sociopath. Jon has the power of a god but his views of fate and his perception of reality renders him effectively impotent. Laurie and Dan are compromised, unwilling to face their own issues and not committed enough to anything to choose a path other than that of least resistance. "The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity." Ozy's plan is monstrous, but the 'good' good guys quickly acquiesce to the cover-up. It's only the nutjobs who find it unacceptable.

This story changed the way I looked at Iron Man, Captain America, Daredevil et al.
