203 Its annoying because its a publishing issue - the store ordered me a copy in and that was the same. I'm going to go on Amazon and order an older copy of there. I really looked forward to taking part in the group discussions on it but I'll not get it finished now till Christmas at this rate.

Thanks for the offer Becky thats so nice to know but I'm a book whore and I like to own all my book lol

203 I've been trying to read Talisman for the September read and had no lick whatsoever. I've had to return 5 copies so far because ever one has pages in the wrong part - its so not fair I've whated to read this for ages:(

203 I really enjoyed the first part of the book. Jack is a very likable character and I feel sorry for him. I Recently read Lost Boy Lost Girl and I can see straub's writing style in here and it mixes well with King's fantastic story telling. I can't wait to finish this book now.

203 I think my first King book was Gerald's Game and I read it under cover so my mum wouldn't know I was reading it - I was about 13 at the time.

203 I would love to comment and say who my favourite character is but my copy of Talisman is shit - I got about 200 hundred pages in and found that the pages where all mixed up, for example, there was page 270 and next to it page 310 and so on. I'm so annoyed because I was really getting into the story.

I'm back by the way - its been nearly two weeks since I last was on here, I was visiting a friend and then on a hen weekend for my friend. I have missed so much.

203 Its so not fair, I'm going to have to take it back to the bookshop but I don't think I have the receipt anymore, which is a pain in the backside.

203 Its peed me off because I was really getting into it and I hadn't noticed at first then started to think it was odd that it was skipping about in the middle of a chapter. I need to get it soon for September so i can take part in the group read. I'm really sad:(

203 I'm gutted I started reading The Talisman and got part way through to find that all the pages are mixed up - so for example 375 is next to 410 and so on, I'm sending it back to Amazon because it is an imperfect version.

203 Shane I apologise for my rant but it annoyed me that you seemed to be suggesting that we can't critisize SK. I hated Dreamcatcher and I found that it didn't flow like the reat of his stuff and that for me it wasn't his best work but that doesn't mean I don't like or respect SK. I like to discuss both the good, bad and ugly of any author and to not be able to do or to be worried that someone may not like that opinion is not a good think. Again I apologise and I will say you caught me on a very bad day and I took it out on here which I shouldn't have done but I still feel the same though slightly less enraged!!!

203 I like this idea Angie!!

My one concern is that while I love reading SK's books there are a few that I'm particually keen on and I want to be able to discuss these books without offending anyone but I'm not sure how I can go about doing this without sounding like I'm being critical. Its very frustrating.

203 I loved Heart Shaped Box, it was one of the best ghost stories I had read in ages. I look forward to read more of Joe Hill in the future.

203 I've just started reading Talisman and can't wait to get stuck in - I think this evening, a nice hot bubble bath, a glass of wine and The Talisman and my evening will be completely relaxing:D

203 I quite enjoyed this story, I think this is King at his best in a way. I think that he keeps the story intersting by telling it 3rd person, so Its Mrs Todd's story but being told 3rd hand. I love the magic of the journey and how the hell she managed to stay so young. 10 out of 10 for this one.

203 Your welcome Angie, I got on my soap box didn't I lol
Aug 16, 2008 03:07PM

203 I couldn't think of another way to discribe it Angie because like you said everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter what but to say the things he said was a little out of order and it peed me off because i don't think anyone in this group would seriously diss SK, we're all here for a reason because we love him and his work.

203 haha I post it on YouTube if I had a video recorder lol
