I agree. With the Gunslinger you have to kind of read it and then take a break and read it again. It takes a while to think about all of the aspects of the story. Not giving up on this series was the best thing ever b/c wow is it good.
Sometimes running away is a perfectly acceptable response.

Just finished From a Buick 8. Finished it because I always finish books even if I just don't get them but have to say it was not one of my favs. It seemed like the suspenseful parts were few and far between and sometimes it went on for a couple pages without saying much of anything new.
Hey everyone, my name is Laura and my cousin first got me reading SK books. After reading the first one I just couldn't seem to stop and am now almonst finished with the DT series. Do not get to read as much as I want to cause I am full time in college with a year to go but can always make time for SK!
As far as getting introduced to King I started with the book Cujo. It is not listed on my books yet b/c I want to go back and read it again but King did a good job of showing the reader that the situation was a tragedy for everyone and the dog too. My cousin who got me 2 read King also started with that book. She said after she was done she ran out of the house to get 2 things. More King books and extra protection for her big dogs! That book had a lot of heart. :)

When the creature of Andre Lenoige sp? was created, he was not fully a vampire or deamon. In reading the screenplay, and in an interview King said he choose to give his character the attributes of both. I think it was an interesting choice on his part and would like to hear him explain in greater detail the reasons he has for keeping this character vauge.

If stuck on an elevator with the man who wrote so many amazing books I'm not sure I would know where to start. :) First I would thank him for so many wonderful creations. Then I would tell him how much I am liking the Dark Tower Series since I am in the middle of it now. Would also like to ask him a question about the screenplay Storm of the Century.
