19519 I've had Some Kind of Fairy Tale by Graham Joyce on my tbr for a couple of years so I plan to read that, and a friend recently recommended The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker to me so I will read that one for my May flowers (there are tiny little flowers on the cover)

I just recommended this to a friend a couple days ago - really good! Get to it Sandi, I don't think you'll be disappointed - and its a quick read too !

19519 Finished.

I loved the writing in this book, and I do enjoy fantasy and magical realism, it was a good read for me.

I was probably 3/4 through before I noticed the lack of quotation marks in those parts with Faina - no matter who was talking with her.

I think I was expecting a bigger, better ending. For me it was ho hum.

19519 Things are slightly different this month:

1. Member's Choice is Joanne
Twentynine Palms won the poll

2. Combo Topic - Off the Shelf: Covers & Author
March is National Women's History Month. The theme this year is 'Weaving the Stories of Womens Lives' so find a book to read from your actual or virtual TBR shelf that is written by a woman AND has a woman on the cover. Bonus point if it's about a strong woman. Should be interesting to see what we all come up for this combo category!

19519 re spoilers Patty: I agree with what Sandi said, and as long as you indicate beforehand or hide the comment, people can choose to read or not. We have readers of all ages and tastes, some reading classics for the first time so I'd hate for a spoiler to wreck their reading in any way.
