19126 I'm a big fan of the Stephanie Plum series, and I've also enjoyed The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency and Mum's the Word. Another good series is Thistle and Twigg by Mary Saums. I've read The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder too, though, and thought it was one of the worst books I've read. I won't be reading any more from that series.

19126 I love the series, but I haven't been a fan of the between-the-numbers books (well, not until Plum Spooky came out). I'm eagerly awaiting book 15 to come out next week. It took me a while to decide, but I've realized that I'm a Ranger fan, and Twelve Sharp is my favorite of the series thus far. You're lucky to have so many Plum books to look forward to, Jackie!

19126 Hello, everyone! I'm glad you've started this group, as I enjoy mysteries, but I think I need some assistance in finding the right ones. : ) My favorites are Evanovich's Plum series, and Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon series is pretty good, too. I recently read The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency and I think this may be another series I will be following. I suppose Lisa Lutz's Spellman series would be considered mystery, too, and these are among my favorite books. I'm looking forward to reading some classic mysteries in the near future, as well.

19126 I guess Janet Evanovich hooked me on mysteries. I love her Stephanie Plum series (not really including the between-the-numbers books, though). I've read a couple of her romance novels because of this, but I thought they were pretty bad.

I also enjoy Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon series, particularly because of the nature element - they are set in U.S. National Parks. After reading most of them, though, they have become very formulaic.

I've got The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Volume I and The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Volume II on my TBR shelf, and I'm looking forward to starting them in the fall. I remember reading The Hound of the Baskervilles in Jr. High and I really enjoyed it then. It's about time for a re-read.
