http://www.literature-map.com/julia+spen... this might help you, I did julia spencer fleming and the closer the name is to your author, the better it might be of the same style/plot/characters as wha you are looking for
Slaughter Karinnot sure if this would work for you, it is set in a small town, there is a sheriff but the coroner plays a strong point in the plots. It has moved from a small town to a big city after I think 7 books, but I am sure she will go home again.
With that said, these are not for the weak heart, the author describes violence in detail and graphic at that. They are not cozies.
The Fortune Teller's Daughter A Novel I finished this book only because I had no other book. My delivery for work was 2 hrs late so I read this book to pass the time, otherwise it would of been tossed at about page 50.
n/r The Last Olympian and Uglies

I am a dedicated read in order person, The book right before Genesis/Undone( why the title changes in different countries) does have an ending that begins this book, if you have started this one, I can tell you the ending, but better if you read it first

I am guessing keeping the dead is the British title? Do you know what the American title is?
I would love to discuss Genesis/Undone when you are done with it.
Dorie wrote: "Teresa, I really liked all of the Jefferson Bass books I've read. I think the author(s) balance the personal life stuff and the forensic case work very well."
I am enjoying it about 1/2 way done. One incident in this book bothered me (cock fighting). It fits into the story, it just rubbed me the wrong way.
Carved in Bone great look at forensics, not overly violent or graphic in detail, good case, and the writing has a good flow to his writing
Sunstroke not sure where this book is going, took a strange turn
Marley & Me Love and Life with the World's Worst Dog have watched the movie twice, a very LOL book, and I KNOW a couple dogs like this
Die Trying got sidetracked and got to get back to reading this book for a book group

Paula wrote: "Teresa, I will prepare myself for intense! The back cover indicates that the wolves are the culprits, but after reading most of Anna Pideon's adventures I'm inclined to believe it's a human or huma..."
Not giving anything away, but it is very cloudy on whether the wolves cause it or the humans cause it, all depends on you read it : ) Let me know when you finish
