True, you have to frequent estate sales and used bookstores.

19126 I'm reading "Pleading Guilty" by Scott Turow and I hate it.

19126 I'm reading Harold Bloom's "Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice". I recently finished "Winter Study" by Nevada Barr, which I enjoyed plotwise, although I thought a lot of the writing was bad.

19126 I've really enjoyed all the Wallander books I've read so far, including this one. I even liked the parts where he was sexually harrassing the female prosecutor. (Strangely, even in those scenes you were rooting for him.) I hope Mankell will write more of them; his non-Wallander fiction seems to be more miss than hit.

How do people know if a book has lost something in translation, unless they're reading it in multiple languages?

19126 I was about 80 pages into "Murder Inside the Beltway" by Margaret Truman but it was so bad I had to abort the mission.

Don't Look Back (Inspector Sejer Mystery) by Karin Fossum. I think this is the first in the series that is available in English translation.

19126 I just finished Voices A Reykjavik Thriller. It was...meh.

Now I'm reading The Death of the Heart which is not a mystery but a psychological novel.

And having finished this, I think I'm done with the pedophiliac subgenre of Nordic police procedurals.

Oh, I never saw that before. Thanks.
