19126 I've already started the third - I already really like it. Same old addictive Larsson.

19126 Oooh Dorie. I hope you like that one by Ellory as that is the one I have by him. It looks to be very good so I'm anxious to know what you think of it!

19126 Not reading a crime at the moment, I might read Grotesque next like I was planning... but I am reading Sea of Poppies now by Amitav Ghosh. I've been needing to re-visit this author for a while now. I am busting to read another crime soon though.

19126 Hi Saad! Welcome to C&T! We're nominating books for the group read now but I'll be putting the poll up soon so if you want to nominate a group read now's your chance.

Group reads run monthly from every 15th of the month. We do this as many people are members of other groups (such as TNBBC which you're already a member) and so they can spread their group reads out a bit!

If you don't want to participate then you can still nominate and vote. Just nominate something you'd like others to read even if you yourself won't take part.

19126 How about The Clubbable Woman as that is the first in the Daziel and Pascoe series? My mum likes his too. I've read one - The Stranger House which was a bit weird.

19126 Could people put the authors and title of the book (not just the cover) in for me please? I copy and paste it so it makes life easier and faster. :)

19126 Nominate the book you'd like to read starting 15th November-15th December!

The book must be the first in the series, or if we have already read the first the second and so on and so forth...

19126 I think I might read Grotesque next (or soonish) after my current one.

Jeane, put it down if you don't like it. Unless you mean ICTC in which case you better not if you value your life!!!!

You have posted this TWICE in my group without even an introduction. I don't think so. I deleted your other one. Seeing as you are a book publicist I presume your job is to go around advertising aka spamming this book around the place.

Please read the rules before posting anything else or I will delete your membership from this group.

19126 You might be put in here temporarily if you have breeched the rules of the group. If you don't know what they are yet they are at the top of the group discussion page.

You might be here permanently, probably banned as well and then possibly deleted after everyone has pointed and laughed.

19126 I knew I was going to spell that wrong. I forgot to check before I put the topic up.

19126 I don't know if anyone saw this and as it's British I guess most of you won't have...

But I saw a Criminal Justice last week. It is a series, that focuses on one story - lasts for 5 hourly episodes once a day for a week that looks at the story of a crime from the beginning right through the court case to the end.

This was the second series... and I wished I'd seen the first now but because it was only over one week I didn't. This time by chance really I caught it on BBC iPlayer.

It was one of those stories that just effects you so deeply, I can't quite let go of it even now and it has been two days since I saw it. The ending especially was heart wrenching.

It was about a woman who killed her husband who emotionally and sexually abused her, and what happened to her, her daughter and hew baby afterwards during the legal process. The writing was so taut and true, the acting so completely believable. I wish it were a book. The story followed the perspective of the woman then any police officer.

It's such a change to watch a TV drama that is so intelligent and brilliantly written, one that doesn't patronise you or has to hide behind corners and explain every little detail to you.

I enjoy CSI NY but often I'm frustrated because they always have one of the characters say something to explain what they're doing when I can quite easily figure it out myself.

I just love a good drama that gets you, makes you go through everything that character feels, find yourself angry and on the brink of tears almost all the way through.

I don't think I could watch it again, I just felt so drained.

Anyway, I don't know anyone else who watched it and I just needed to get something off my chest. If you ever get the chance, I really recommend it.

19126 Discuss the book here and be careful to mark spoilers carefully. :)

Not sure if I'll be able to get around to this month but soon I hope!
