Lover Mine (Book 8) (1552 new)

1898 Geez, I sleep for 5,5 hours and I miss so many posts?

On Layla: I second everything what Tara said.

On Sax: we were wondering if there was more to him then meets the eye. He seems a bit sly. But still: he was great with Blay. And I really wouldn't know what he would be trying to achieve by hooking up with Blay. Okay, he's now at the Brotherhood mansion but he was under surveillance all the time and he was only allowed to stay till he got better. Plus: he didn't know Blay would take him there. Blay could have easily asked someone to come to Sax's house.

And I'm sorry Krondr and Synn but I do think Saxton and Blay had sex. But really: it doesn't matter. It might have been 'right' but I'm sure Blay was thinking ".. but it wasn't you" after that line he said to Qhuinn. We didn't get his POV for a reason!

I hope hope hope Blay and Qhuinn get their own book. I don't know if it's been confirmed, I don't think so. My guess is that the Warden will confirm or deny it with the chat on May 11th.

I really hope they get their own book, #10, after Payne and Manny's, but if not I hope they share a book with Layla and Muhrder.

I hope Qhuinn stays away from Layla. Far, far away from that crazy girl. And does not, I repeat: NOT, impregnate her.
That would seriously piss me off!

You skipped Phury's book?!? No! You're really missing out on something. There's so much backstory going on and then there's page 421 too. Shame shame!

Anyway, Phury lives in Rehv's cabin in the Adirondacks with Cormia and the Chosen who've come to this side. That's why they have him on speaker phone during LM although I don't get why he doesn't just dematerialize to the Brotherhood mansion for meetings.

Muhrder will get his own book.

1898 LOL, I know, I also write half of my messages from my iPhone. Believe me: it gets easier after a while.
I advice you to use the preview button to see your post because you easier spot typos that way (and ofcourse edit your posts afterwards if necessary to make the messages readable).

1898 Yep she did get a pass: her aging process stopped, so she's very lucky (and I believe she could die if she wanted to, so she could choose to be with Rhage, should he pass on- don't freak out). Anyway: Manny, the big mystery. Maybe he will (almost?) die and the SV will bring him back or have him turned as an apology to Payne?

1898 Welcome Elizabeth! Nope, you're absolutley right. And I think things are going to go down like you say: Manny will come to the mansion with Jane to heal Payne's back. And after a whole lot of problems (and a very jealous brother) they'll fall in love.

*cue scary music and echo*

But ofcourse Manny won't be able to go back the normal world after having learned about the existence of vampires, so:
there will be a divine intervention and his aging proces will be put on hold scratch that, already happened with Mary
there'll be a big problem and Manny will die after sacrificing himself for Payne (ultimately showing he is indeed worthy of taking care of Payne) and divine intervention will return Manny to the land of the living as a ghost scratch that, happened to Jane
he will be turned into a vampire scratch that: Butch...
Something else new and original will happen! Yay!

1898 Argh I'm jealous of you! Take your time, savour it, enjoy!

1898 LOL, I agree with you Synnister, I was all ready for it, but this was not their book. However, I think that if Ward had indeed written something about them, she could have properly tested the water on her m/m romance and how the fans would perceive it.

1898 ***spoiler LM***

Yaya, another virgin. I think I like Payne. She's naive and innocent in some ways, but also very down to earth and rational. And she's totally kickass in other ways. She's going to be fun to read about I'm sure. I hope she loses the Chosen-speech (verily!) fast.

1898 ***spoiler LM***

I hope so. I'm curious about her cause she may be fierce on the battlefield, she seemed kind of naive otherwise...

1898 Ooooooh *sigh*
I. Love. That. Scene. Pages 235, 237 and I'm not ashamed I know it by heart! (I sent that part as a teaser too, ehehe.)

1898 Well I'm still single so if you ever run into him, you can just send him to me :P

1898 First woman on the cover! I bet we will still be seeing a big man's chest on it!

1898 Now sister mine, I'm deeply disappointed. I'd expected you to know a few quotes by heart!
May 02, 2010 12:20PM

1898 *blush* Well, to be honest. I'm not sure now. I thought I had seen this one of him but I got a few other (almost) naked pics when I googled him.

And I got this.

This is 100x more sexy than that first pic, IMHO:

1898 Hmmm, UM, maybe we should make it into a folder or something? Anyway, we'll talk about it.

Thanks Leigh and Jennifer, I'm closing this thread.

1898 Oh I love Blay!

Jesslynn wrote: "OK...I totally disagree w/you about this. I don't think she's acting at all. It's true, her naivety is causing her to manipulate, but you can't blame someone for not having any experiences to grow on..."

Jesslyn, like I said: I don't think Layla is being manipulative on purpose. So she isn't 'acting like a victim' as in 'playing it'. I didn't mean it like that, but don't know how to say it another way.

The thing is: Layla is a Chosen. Being used for your blood and body without getting anything in return is pretty much the job descriptiption.
She was the first to sign up for being First Mate when there were doubts about Cormia. She knew that she wouldn't be bonded but there would be many more for the Primale. How is this any different?

She is a professional, so she should act like one, however shitty the situation. Personally, I think it's ridiculous that she's the only Chosen being used by pretty much all the Brothers as some kind of drive though bloodbank. And I know that what she wants is normal: she wants a man just for her, who loves her and bonds with her. And I hope she gets it. But this is not the way. As long as she keeps doing her job as a Chosen, she won't be able to find what she wants.

1898 LOL, I'm liking that one Suzanne.

1898 Thanks Heather. Love that bit. Especially the last sentence...

One of my favorite parts from the book (for obvious reasons), Xhex to Blay about Qhuinn:

Abruptly, her storm cloud-colored stare sharpened on his face. "So you're the reason Qhuinn was in such a bad mood tonight."
Blay recoiled, and then shook his head. "It's got nothing to do with me. Qhuinn is usually in a bad mood."
"People going in the wrong direction will get like that. Round pegs just don't fit in square holes."

1898 Heather wrote: "I just wanted to add that not only is Qhuinn struggling with the gay/coming out/perception issues, there are basic relationship issues at play too. How many people do you know/heard of that are in..."

Heather, though I tend to agree with you, Qhuinn has also said that "one fuck would be all what it took and then he would never leave Blay". So that means that if he were to take it further, he'd be with Blay forever.
So I don't think his initial worry is to ruin a good friendship, I think it's his issues with himself and how he thinks he's supposed to live.
