the school house mouse is a great one for third graders.
Has she tried the American Girl Series? These are a great series for girls. There's Felicity, Kit, Kayla, Samantha, Molly, Kirsten, and the newest American Girl-Julie (who lives in the 1970's).
As a kid I always wanted to be Laura Ingalls. She was my hero.
