Hi Kerei! Take a look at the Bur Bur and Friends children's book series. All of the books are educational and teach kids about sports and outdoor exploration. Boys seem to be drawn to these books. Bur Bur is a biracial child who is in the following books (which are all award winners)

1. Bur Bur's Boating ABC's
2. Bur Bur's Fishing Adventure
3. Bur Bur Throws Out the First Pitch

The fourth book in the series does not host Bur Bur as a character, But it is a good read.
4. Anna Goes Hiking
