Kate has written a series of chapter books for young readers -- Mercy Watson ________. I have read them all to my developmental life skills students and they LOVE them, good plot, great illustrations.

Back when I acquired my first copy of Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, it was somewhat controversial in that the policemen were actually pigs. In the Night Kitchen also was a controversial book. I loved them both.

188 I like On Monday When It Rained by Cherryl Kachenmeister. I use it with my special needs class to teach days of the week, facial expressions/emotions.
