I think thats because women are such a mystery to men.I've had a dificult time with the choices of these women. What was that that Steve Mort was saying about women all writing with the same voice.I'd put men on a similure boat.
The story of ASoFaI really picks up substance with a Storm of Swords, and the women that seem to be twisting things up in AGoT change quite a bit.
I couldn't stand the way Catelyn was protrayed as such heartless bitch to her husbands son.(Jon)
Cersei is obviously a selfish little bitch.
Lysa spineless!!!!!!!!!!
Danerys well bless her little heart what she has instore for her is sad, lets hope that A Dance with Dragons sorts things out abit.
Sansa, I'd like to say shes been a waste of paper but its hard to say GRRM may have something nice planed for her.
Now Arya, if GRRM turns her into something twisted and ugly or spinless and weak I'm going to be extremly pissed
Daenery is my least fav, re-read G O T last weekend! re-reading FOC so dave and I can rant about the things that bug us most, as well as our hopes for DOD... Dang I'm soooooo excited.
Catelyn is deffinately my least favorite and Sansa... dang, but little miss Arya can't wait to find out what she's been upto.
Darin your a Bran hater... well lets talk later.
have you read all 4 so far?
Dave can you believe it! we're only 4 months away! Hay have you read the JV JONES books yet, I can send them over if you need, just let me know
Its funny I've read that referance to Tolkien before and though I've loved this series GRRM is writting now you wont find me on that band wagon.
Oh I recognize the hater now............
Thanks Donald
yes Rob been done for months.I'm going to re-read them all real quick, 1. to follow with the group read, 2. to be fresh for the "dance".
I was given the first book by my eldest daughters ex as suggested reading a couple of years ago now I guess, I enjoyed it so much I raced out and got the other three, reading all four fairly quickly. I had alot more time on my hands then. The re-read is always faster so I'll be ready in time.I now own first edition HB of all 4 along with PB editions.
When I had reached the end of Feast of Crows I was so excited to read that he had all but writtin A Dance with Dragons just needing to wrap up so it would have seemed. I too have heard the Sept. releae date and believe it will be soon, the writting has been done most of it prior to the release of Feast of Crows.
I am looking forward to reading more of little miss Arya how will she help to restore her home?Nymeria.... can't wait till these two reunite, certain it will be spectacular- at least it better be, has great potential!
oh damn now I'm all in a tizzy I better reread them all, just so I'm all fresh for the big Dance!
for those of you that like their stories long, may I suggest "Sword of Shadows" series by JV Jones.3 books are available now.No need to hurry in your acquisition of these books she seems to take her time gettimg them out! Dark story line.Fantasy
Hi Kristjan,
love your comment on this subject and the fact you've honed in on salt being so precious.Kudos!
hi there new to this group, but would love to lead the discussion group for "A Game of Thrones", if the need still exists.
Hi there all I was born in 66 and like "the other john" I also live in Seattle, I didnt do much personal reading while my children were growing up,But now that they are grown and on their own my husband has had to suffer the consequences.I averaged about 3000 pages a
month for the first year and have slowed down a bit over the last 6 months while searching for new books. I turned one of our childrens rooms into a library and am filling it up with as many HB editions I can find of all my favorite books( a couple that are not so much)I am tickled to have found so many wonderfull sites dedicatd to fantasy books, just in case, are you all familure with "Realms of Fantasy Maggazine" website they have a great forum section check it out if you haven't.My to read list is growing steadily and thanks to abebooks and amazon books I've been able to find most of them. Happy reading to you all, and dont forget to pass tittles of any GREAT books your reading!

I read these books back in the late 70's and hadnt even realized she had written the forth book (Tehanu) until this last summer. Iwas so excited to see the mini series come to life ... Until i saw it. Yes I felt it offensive that ged was changed and though I have enjoyed Danny glover in other movies I felt he was horribly cast as Ogion, As a Matter of fact I felt all the characters were miss-cast and would have rathered the series was never under taken for the screen. unless of course Peter Jackson would like to spin his magic as he did with "The Lord of the Rings"
