1865 Hi all, I'm one of the geezers too at the ripe (figuratively) old age of 40. I recently moved to Phoenix after 38 years in California and 2 years in the army. I have been an avid reader since my teens when my grades suffered because I read what I wanted instead of what I should have. I have been toying with a story for a few years and am motivating myself to get it done.
One of the reasons I thought it would be good to join this group is it will give me an idea what other people think. After all, what is the point of subjecting a publisher to my drivel if I don't think it is worth printing?
Also, I see that the current book is already started. When will the discussion be, so I know if I have time to read it with everyone else.

1865 I would recommend speed of dark. It's one of those books that just makes you say "wow". There is no single reason for this but add up all of the little things and it just, well, wow.

1865 The Moon is a Harsh Mistress science is outdated, but it is still a good read for other reasons.
