1865 Good luck.
I self-published my first book in 2007 and I will be self-publishing my second this year. If you enjoy direct marketing, you will have a lot of fun. Post the short story idea again once you are ready to commit. My idea would be to split the cost of printing 2000 copies ten ways and divide up the books, 200 each. We could also proofread and edit each others stories.

1865 I would be interested. Are you thinking of self publishing?

1865 I no longer keep fiction. I donate them to various charity book sales. I have a hard enough time just keeping my reference books down to under a few hundred. I do that by limiting myself to two book shelves.

1865 The winner is Kris from MA.
May 22, 2009 11:36AM

1865 Note: The winner will receive an email on June 1st. The book should arrive within two weeks, unless the winner is outside of North America, in which case it would most likely take a month.

1865 This is a printed trade paper back (9x6) and I will be mailing it to the winner.

1865 I really liked Airframe, but then I worked in the aerospace industry for 19 years. Prey was my all time favorite, closely followed by Jurassic Park.

1865 Has anyone here ever heard of or seen a copy of Oracle Short Story & Letters? It is a SCI-FI/Fantasy magazine produced somewhere in California.

1865 Hi

Came across this group and thought I'd stay a while. I've been reading Science Fiction and Fantasy since the sixties, but I don't think of myself as a Geezer. I prefer the term learned.
1865 I am announcing a free 'Be a Character in my Next Fantasy Novel contest. Just submit you name, whether you want to be a villain or hero, and as much character detail as you want to give. I will be drawing one entry on December 6, 2008. See my website for details and submission form.

FireDrakes synopsis: The task of freeing a race of FireDrakes from the grip of an evil sorceress falls upon the shoulders of a young untried Daemon Knight. The job seems simple enough; just retrieve the magical amulet she is using to hold them in thrall, but most of the FireDrakes don’t want his help, and he has fallen in love with the beautiful sorceress. The question is: will love or duty prevail?
