Wallace Stegner wrote Crossing To Safety. He's one of my favorite authors. I also love Angle of Repose by him which won the Pulitzer. CTS is about the friendship between 2 couples during the span of many years. I just got extremely invested in the characters- kinda felt like I knew them. Also, Stegner lived in SLC and wrote a lot about Utah which is where I live.
Katie- I also love Barbara Kingsolver, especially Poisonwood Bible.

I've read Crossing to Safety more times than I can count. I love,love,love that book.

What I don't like is having the movie characters/setting different from what I've created in my head. Usually like it better when it's an unknown actor.
