A Walk Through the Memory Palace has been released from qarrtsiluni. Here's the link to it: http://memorypalacewalk.com/
Jan, although I wish that I'd written it, that fine poem "Liner Notes" belongs to Nina. Kudos, Ruth and Nina.
More later--I think Lolita is one of the greatest detective stories I've ever read. On my way to work.
I'm ecstatic to announce that my chapbook, A Walk Through the Memory Palace, has been chosen for publication in the qarrtsiluni series by author Dinty Moore. Here's the announcement:

I'll contribute what I can. The semester starts in 3-1/2 weeks and I'm working hard on getting my syllabi in order. However, Lolita is my all-time favorite novel, and I'd like to discuss it.
Glad to know that you all are having acceptances! Sunday was "three strikes and you're out" for me--a trio of journals replied, "Thanks but no thanks." (Electronic submissions make it a 7-day rejection week).Question: An editor sent me a personal note that she loves a poem and was considering it, hung on to it for over 4 months, and then sent me a form rejection. What do you think? Would you resubmit another poem?
Thanks for asking--My first chapbook should be coming out in 2010 from Finishing Line Press. Believe me, you all will hear all about it. All I can say is that the cover is amazing.
I return to Cameron's work every year or so. I believe firmly in writing in the morning, but I cannot discipline myself to do it every day. Maybe now that I'm changing schedules a bit it will be easier. I do believe that goodness comes from expecting goodness.
Thank you! Jan, I agree with Ruth about your poem's transformation of the mundane into the sublime. I look forward to reading more of your work.
Thank you, Ruth. I'm sure your paintings are beautiful. I wish I had as many garnets as a pomegranate has seeds. I love jewelry! Do you ever make it to West Kentucky/Tennessee, Jim?
I have poems in the current issue of Holly Rose Review and The Other Journal.http://www.hollyrosereview.com/junejohns...

I wish I were writing more, but then I never write much in the summer...
I had something very like a stroke in the spring, but according to the physicians it doesn't yet have a diagnosis. It's more than the vapors, less than a full-fledged stroke. I have had trouble with reading longer than 15 minutes, then 30 minutes, then an hour--but I'm up to 2 hours now and climbing. I had to ration my reading and online time. Thanks for asking and know that I'm much better. PS I love your art work and am saving up my money to buy a piece from you!
I'm here for a bit--my mind is on submissions. I've just received a copy of The Girl with Bees in Her Hair, by Eleanor Rand Wilner. I'll start on it tonight. I can recommend another great book, Displacement, by Leslie Harrison, who won this year's Bakeless Prize from Breadloaf. I'm going to re-read it before I post a longer review, but it's definitely a 5-star book.
I read In the Surgical Theatre. I particularly like what Levin is doing with line breaks there. Very intense, very "un-prettily" beautiful. I'm reading Becoming the Villainess by Jeannine Hall Gailey--very interesting transformation/empowerment stories.
It's very funny. I wouldn't say I worked with Mark (because it was a lecture-type class instead of a workshop). However, I can with confidence state that it was his first teaching gig. I still have my notes on T.S. Eliot from that class.
