17941 Goodness I would never have thought of her as Young adult reading. But I guess I can see it. I have been a Jane Austin fan since the age of 9. I can see the same fascination with the lives and loves of Elizabeth Gaskill chars as I had/have for Janes.

17941 I loved hear Gaimen read this book on audio. It just came to life. This is a great story playing on some of childhoods greatest fears. Moving and making new friends being one of them.

17941 I liked it but I didnt. I hate books where someone betrays the group as in this one. I just really hated when the girls turned against Gemma

17941 It was ok. More a story of a womans life in pioneer time. The woman had strong beliefs but the story was more about her life then her religion. So I think you would like it

17941 Now a days the preferred term for these books is speculative fiction. Under it there are divisions such as scinece fiction, urban fantasy, high fantasy ect ect. It like mystery where it is divied into cosey, locked room, police procerdurals ect
17941 Ahhhh I loved the scene where Miss Maudies house burned. It made me see what has been lost in America with us all turning inside our houses to watch TV. Maybe we are turning back out with things like this book club

17941 I loved both the movie and book of Stardust. I did feel they were a bit differnt tellings but I loved both tellings. Its like differnt versions of a fairy tale.
17941 I like to get reminders of polls. I read every book and love having input in their selection
17941 A question that gets asked a lot in book clubs is which fictional char would you like to meet. Mine is Atticus Finch.

He seems like someone who cares about everyone. He gives all a chance to be themselves. He isnt afraid to stand up for what he believes and well I bet hes pretty cute

17941 Yes its part why I have begun to pick up more non fiction with more non-fiction.

Mind you you have to watch that too. Frenomics disapointed me in misinformation, They made a statement in regards to the prevalance on C'sections that was incorrect. I know because I was on the team that did the research. 5 seperate years with 5 different answers then what they wrote
