Katsa from Graceling might be good, or even Fire from Graceling's companion book Fire.
or Katniss from The Hunger Games.
My good ole favorite question...
What were your favorite books growing up, and what are your favorites now?
and...
How far do you plan to continue this series, and do you already have other ideas for other stories you want to write, and do you plan on sticking with young adult?

After reading the first one, I'm with Alexis. HATED it.
yeah, I wouldn't be so quick to draw that conclusion Megan :) you need to get your hands on that book!
also torn, but I always have a weakness for the first guy on the scene...so I bend SLIGHTLY towards Gale. I have so many different ideas about where she will take it. *sigh*

don't worry. You'll read it super fast :)
gah...I am such a ninny! I missed a chat with my favorite author!
...oh well, at least she answered my questions :D
I'm not sure if I think it is better than the first...to me the vibes were just SO much different that I don't feel right comparing them side by side. I think I loved CF just as much, but in a different way :\ if that makes sense.
Do you enjoy writing books considered "young adult" better than "adult"?
How do you get inspiration for your characters? They always seem so layered and real, its hard to imagine them not really existing! (Nicholas Soames from Tea Rose, for instance, is one of my favorite characters ever-his story ended up making me literally set the book down and sob!)
