17941 Perhaps things have slowed down a bit just because everyone is busy with personal stuff. And the holidays are coming, too. Book discussions are great, so are challenges. I like it all.

17941 Rats Saw God is about a high school student who has to write a paper about himself and what he's doing and feeling. Published in 2007, it's a classic.

How far into it are you?"

I got through two chapters I think and gave it up. I might give it another go. I like Holly Black alot. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood.

17941 Yes, the grandmother was in a concentration camp and her memories spurred her granddaughters actions as she tried to uncover the mystery of her grandmother's past. Great book-I loved it.
17941 Hunger Games
Wednesday Wars
17941 Oooh, I'm dying to read this book! Gotta add it to my list-it's supposed to be good.

17941 The Hobbit was the first Tolkien book I read. After that I devoured the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Amazing books and brilliant literature and a cracking good story to boot.

Yeah, our district did too. It's obscene, the schools needs librarians.

17941 I didn't really care for the book. I thought Hannah was lost in self pity and threatening her living classmates was ugly. Still, teenages probably will get some important messages out of the book.

I couldn't like the twins. I could see that they were brilliant wizards but omg, so obnoxious!

17941 I thought the book was brilliant. When it was finished, I felt tense, wondering what would happen to the main characters. Very suspensful and fascinating story. Can't wait for the sequel.

17941 The Last Dragon is a great book that was originally written in Italian. Basically, an elf tries to tame a dragon and embarks on a difficult quest. I know it sounds hokey but I really enjoyed it.

17941 It takes place during the Vietnam war, so I guess it's historical. Ditto for Cracker, and both are really terrific novels for YA's.
