17569 Better production values?

17569 It made me LOL often so I gave it 3. There were lots of great "she did *not* really say/do that" moments.

17569 Orphan is silly but fun.

17569 I liked Katie Holmes a lot when this movie came out, and I have to say that I never wanted to jump into a movie so much as when I saw that flashback scene near the end where Greg Kinnear confronts her character.

17569 I thought he was fine in the first one he did, but he sounded really awful in the second.

17569 Timothy Dalton was in Flash Gordon?

17569 I have no love for Gambit or Deadpool because, like Venom over in Spider-Man, to me they are relics of a really, really lousy era of Marvel Comics--most of the 1990s.

17569 No.

It's on the second disc of the 3 Extremes DVD package.

17569 I still haven't watched the full length version of "Dumplings."

17569 I loved all of these, with the exception of "The Wheel" from the second collection, which I didn't really grasp.

17569 I thought the look was perfect for the film.

17569 Yeah, Vinnie Jones is almost always scary. He can be funny too, though.

I think this is the best Barker adaptation I've seen.

17569 It's hard to have compassion for people when you're surrounded by them all day.

17569 I watched it for a few years and really liked it, but I gave it up when it turned into a "disaster of the week" where they kept trying to top the previous episode with an even more outrageous scenario. The last one I saw was when a helicopter fell on the mean one-armed doctor.
Netflix (43 new)

17569 Rachel, I think that once you get used to how Netflix works you'll find that instant gratification isn't much of an issue. You'll be able to keep the movies you really want to watch coming naturally. Once in a while I misjudge myself and end up with something I don't feel like watching at the time, but it doesn't happen often. (I'm on the 3-at-a-time plan.)

17569 I've only seen the first one. I thought it was just okay. However, I think it is one of those films that was hyped to the sky before I saw it and so I couldn't help being a little disappointed. The same thing happened for me with Dog Soldiers. I might like it more on second viewing. I really like Cillian Murphy and Christopher Eccleston (it was odd to see him as a bad (or at least morally ambiguous) guy).

17569 When I was a kid I always preferred Roger Moore over Sean Connery. As an adult I don't like the old ones at all, but I love Daniel Craig. Casino Royale was great; Quantum of Solace was decent. I agree that Quantum doesn't work well as a standalone, and also feel it was too much action and not enough espionage. But it was still better than anything before the "reboot."
Wolverine (101 new)

17569 Despite all the action, I found this film very dull. The only fun I got out of it was spotting all the other Marvel Universe characters, like the Blob. I'm not a Gambit or Deadpool fan, though.
