Yeah, I stopped reading the series b/c I was tired of the females always being so submissive. I couldn't stand it! I'm glad that she is switching it up now... I'm going to have to delve back into the series!

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss was great...
The inheritance series by Christopher Paolini was also great! :)

17216 It's supposed to start on September 10th I believe. I noticed that they eliminated Meredith from the show too. :( I just hope that they do the series justice. I really enjoyed them when I was a teen! :)

17216 Did anyone think that the author needed to enhance the chemistry between the characters a little more???

17216 This is a group I just started. It is for every genre, which is why I called it a haven. I have already created a special folder for fantasy, supernatural romance, and vampires! :)

If you join, I would appreciate if you help spread the news in order to get the group started! :) Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the additions to our list!"

I read "moonlight" when it first came out. I thought is was fairly good considering that it was her first book. It's much more innocent than some of the YA books I have read, which is good if you need to buy a book for a teen relative...but I enjoyed it. There do not seem to be many YA book about shifters and werewolves, and it was a refreshing read. I'm excited to see what she does with the series now that she has begun it!

LOL The latest book is much better than the rest of the series. It is much more involved...

Really? The only thing I found irritating about the House of Night series was that she has too many men! Seriously, what ever happened to being with one guy at a time! LOL
I've been reading Tamora Pierce since I was in junior high. She is actually very good, and I enjoy the fact that she focuses on females, who do what people thought only men could do. I don't want to say anymore than that b/c I don't want to ruin the storyline. Her Lioness Rampant series was great though!

17216 Here are a few books I am looking forward to that come out between now and December!

"Full Moon" and "Dark of the Moon" by Rachel Hawthorne. They are a part of a new series that involve werewolves!
Blood Promise-Richelle Mead This is one of the best series I have ever read, and I am going out of my mind waiting for the next book!
Den of Shadows Quartet by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes Most of her books involve vampires. I've read every single book she has ever written and have never been disappointed!
Tempted by P.C. Cast Vampires, vampires, vampires LOL This is an awesome series.
First Lords Fury by Jim Butcher This series is fantasy not paranormal, but it is too good to leave off of this list!

17216 I know of a few books that are coming out within the next few months, that I thought would compliment your list...Hopefully, you guys will enjoy some of them. :)
Two new books by Rachel Hawthorne are coming out on July 1st.
Den of Shadows by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes on August 11th
Tempted by P.C. Cast on October 27th

17216 The House of Night series by P.C. Cast is really great! If you like young adult vampire books...it is a must read! Also, the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare is amazing!
Most books by Tamora Pierce are really great. The main character is usually female , and they involve a lot of magic.
I agree that L.J. Smith is awesome...however, I hated Nightfall! :( I also agree about Richelle Mead's series Vampire Academy!!!! Soooooo good!!!! I can't wait for the next one in the series!
I recently read a werewolf related book by Rachel Hawthorne. It was the first in a series, and was actually interesting.
John Flanagan, Jim Butcher, Libba Bray, and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes(vampires) are all great too!
I hope this list will help when you're looking for a new YA author/series to try! :)
