There is something about The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe that sets it apart from the others in my mind. So when I choose a favorite from the series, that book is always in a special category on its own.
My favorite among the rest is hands down The Silver Chair. It truly captures how God gives us a job to do which seems clear enough but we always manage to botch it up along the way. The only thing that matters is following the signs - Jill, Eustace and Puddleglum may lose their lives in the process but as long as they remain faithful to the task it doesn't matter. Puddleglum's speech saying that he'd rather follow Aslan even if he isn't real still gives me the goosebumps.
