1545 Love Charleston by Beth Webb Hart. Real problems, real solutions and real ending. I read this book in two days.
1545 Sorry to be so late to this discussion. I love this book. What really suprised me was how CS Lewis shows us how much Satan really hates us. And Lewis shows us there is a hell for those who want believe differently. This book and Mere Christianity were the first two books I read after I became a Christian and they opened eyes to the world as it really is.

1545 *shaking my head* I don't have a resume quite as impressive as Nelson but here goes.

Hey everyone
I've been lurking for a little while and this looks like a fun and informative forum. I am new to Contemporary Christian Fiction. I love Jan Karon and I have read some Frank Peretti and some of the "Left Behind" series but not much else. When I became a Christian in 1989, I found much of C.C.fiction hoakey and poorly written. So I left the genre for biographies, Bible studies and the 19th century: Austen, the Brontes, Dickens, Gaskell, Poe etc

Anyway it was a Bible study that turned me back to CC fiction. It was Liz Curtis Higgs' Bad Girls of the Bibles. She wrote contemporary pieces for the Bible story.

Sorry I didn't mean for this to turn into a blog entry. I just wanted to say I am happy to meet ya'll and I am happy to be here.

1545 I too love the entire "Mitford Years" series. If you enjoy audio books iTunes has "Shepherds Abiding" for $0.95 so I'm having a little Christmas/winter in 100 degree weather. I'm new to comtempory Christian so I look forward to everyone's recommendations.
