Just in case you missed it over at the forum, we are currently reading Agatha Christie's The Mysterious Affair at Styles. It is available for free on MobileRead in a variety of formats. Also, it is very very good :D
The discussion isn't up yet, but if I remember I'll post here when it is.
If you've happened to have previously read it already, the runner-up was Murder Must Advertise by Dorothy Sayers, also available on MR. If anyone is interested in also reading that, we can have a discussion on it here. I know I'll be reading it!
Kenny, at least you've been busy these past few weeks! If there's some others you loved pre-ereader feel free to post. How was Of Human Bondage?
Let's try to keep them as ebooks, so everyone can share in the love :D Thought it would be nice to share some new favorites.
I'd have to say in the past few months, my top five (in no particular order):
1. In the Heart of the Sea The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick. Great history book about the Whaleship Essex.
2. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning. This was (and I think still is) a Suvudu free library book. Totally a guilty pleasure, and I ended out buying the whole series.
3. The Johnstown Flood by David McCullough. Another great history book. Amazing how small decisions can have such an impact on so many lives.
4. Twenties Girl A Novel by Sophie Kinsella. Her books are a guilty pleasure of mine, and this one didn't disappoint. Heartwarming book :)
5. The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. For paranormal romance lovers. I took a chance and bought the bundle on Sony (4 books for $13, not bad) and gobbled it all up.
What about you guys?
Well if you give yourself time frames to read a book by when you add it, I guess it would have value.
That's a good idea Hazel. My problem is a bought a ton of books the past few months but have been reading less, so I'm trying to tackle a lot of the books I bought, in no particular order.
I can't re-read anymore. I feel guilty since I have such a giant TBR pile (even just the ones I actually own).
You can make your own shelf, and name it re-reading. It'll show up on one of the three main shelves and the new one you create.
I've been tempted, but I'm moving soon and am trying to stay away from pbooks. I might give it a shot afterwards though.
I don't bother with the bookshelves, except the standard ones (read/to read/currently reading). That's all I care about, really..
And I agree with the friend thing. I get a few authors I think that are trying to promote their books. I think I might add that function where people have to answer a question.
JSWolf - There's a mutliformat ebook edition already for Neptune's Crossing. I combined it, but it might get deleted. I'm not sure what you're asking in your comment though. I'll go through your books and combine.
If the versions (ebook, paperback, etc) are combined, it combines all of the ratings. If you link the one you're talking about I'll combine it for you.
Meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
And Justy of course :p
I'm trying to add them as I read them. Otherwise I think I'll be in a world of hurt (but a librarian with a serious amount of edits). And since we're on the topic, if you guys see anything goofy on goodreads, post it here and either Justy or myself will fix it up.
Heh, sorry I should have been clearer.
It actually took me two days to finish the last one, but I was trying to spread it out. Then I cried like a baby at the end.
