Thanks, Andrea. I'm hoping that it's convenient for you. I live near New West, too. I live right next to Edmonds Sky train station. There's a taxi stand accessible via Griffiths and 18th Ave. It's just past the Hydro building if you are traveling along Griffiths from 10th Ave toward Kingsway. Alternatively, I can go to another place if it's more convenient for you.
I'd like to see it. I've seen the trailers and it looked good. I could go any time except the next two Thursdays. Other than that whatever time is convenient for you.
You did a terrific job, Jason. Thanks for all of your contributions in keeping this group running so smoothly.
Thanks, Megan and Barb. I will join you in "The Flying Troutmans." Now, there's something you don't hear every day.
Barb, Megan, I feel the same way. It would be nice to read the same book so that we can discuss it. So, I will join you in reading the book of your choice which, I think, might be "The Flying Troutmans." Am I right?
For November, I choose "The World Without Us."
Sounds great. Thanks, Jason.
Thanks also for mentioning the Bookcrossing Event. I had not heard of it before.
If I understand correctly, at our next meeting on Wednesday August 25, we will be nominating books for discussion at our November meeting. Will the List of Themes be in effect?
You're right. It could mean "Twilight."
I would certainly be willing to include poetry and short stories in some way but I'm not sure how we would do that.
Aaah, I see. Giving Coupland his own month lets us read other Canadian authors in other months.
I withdraw my suggestions and accept the list as Jason intially posted it with Coupland in July and two months for Canadian authors.
I'm just wondering, though, why there is a division between dead and live Canadian authors? Why not have two months whose theme is simply "Canadian Authors"?
Also, does "Break-out novel" mean "first novel" or "first best-selling novel"?
