That also works for me. I would prefer Tinseltown.
If anyone wants to carpool going westbound, let me know.
I can't do the 8th thru the 13th (out of town). What about the 30th or the 1st? If these don't work for you, go ahead and have it on the 12th and I can catch it another time. :)
I'd go with you guys but it depends on the date/time. This time of year is tough to get everyone's schedule to jive. When were you thinking of going?
Yes, after speaking to Megan offline, I've decided to read The Flying Troutmans for Dec. I do, however, own White Tiger and The Book of Negroes and plan to read them both eventually.
For the Nov selection, I'd also like to vote for The World Without Us. I'm already a few chapters into it and have found it interesting right from page 1.
Great venue suggestion! Megan, if we're not voting, can you let me know (by the end of Nov) which book you're going to read. I won't be 'showing and telling' but I'd love to have a discussion about the book I read. Cheers!
Huh?? Is that really what we decided to do with Dec? I thought we were having a regular meeting where we vote and all read the same book from a list of popular, yet unsuccessful, choices from the past months? Can someone else who attended the last meeting please confirm what was decided and whether or not I'm going senile. Thx!
How about having July be "Canadian Authors" and November be "B.C. Authors"? I agree with Jason that we don't really need an "American Authors" category and this way, Coupland has at least two chances a year of getting in (although I'm sure I could make a case in all twelve months - well ok, maybe not graphic novels).
What a tough choice! I'll be happy with whatever book is chosen but I'll vote for Life After God since it would probably evoke the most discussion.
Anyone wanna come with me to try to get their book signed??
