Arrgghh!!! Man, I totally spaced!!! I can't believe it...I even had Raina reminding me all week long. I am pathetic. My brain must be broken or something. Loser. Me. :(
Yes, it is at OFS and we will be playing "Brass in Pocket". As for what I'll be the next night, I haven't decided. I can guarantee it'll be a monster or something scary, though, because that's what Halloween is all about for me. I don't dig the folks who dress up as the current celebretard or giant genitals or any of that crap. Bah! Monsters, I say! Scary, I say!
This year's Night of the Living Tribute Bands falls squarely on Halloween night. My band, Rodeo Kill, will be portraying The Pretenders, as my lovely wife makes a killer Chrissie Hynde (I wanted to do Mojo Nixon this year but that got nixed). I guarantee it will wash away the bad taste of last year's Fleetwood Mac debacle. :)
The next night I'm going to a costume party, though.
I'm finally reading "The Phantom of the Opera". I'm ashamed that I claim to be #1 Horror Fan and haven't read this book. Although, I have to say, that I'm nearing the end of it and there has not really been much horror. It's a crackin' good story, though. Last night I went on a spree at Orca and I found this awesome copy of three "The Spider" novels, from 1935-1939. Very cool pulp-y adventure. That's next up - it knocked Henry Miller out of the way. :)
Ha! I've always wondered about that van! Well, there are two other guys who are there on a daily basis, one is in a wheelchair, and they stake out the same booth and watch movies on headphones all day long...
I agree. Actually, most of my reading fall into genre categories like science fiction or horror and, yes, even westerns sometimes. Not so much the romance, though... :)
I'm reading "Under The Skin" by Michael Faber. Great book - very deceptive. How it got published without the ghetto tag of S/F or Horror is beyond me. Way to go, Mr. Faber!
I thank you and my father's poor, overworked fingers thank you, too!(I didn't even realize there was a such a thing as "story of the month"...!)
That's awesome - it's a good excuse to finally toss about a million books that I don't really need to keep hanging onto!
